EARLY NOVEMBER MARKET REPORT
SEE OUR NEW HOT TOPICS! Its really a about a dream. But there is a VERY interesting link in it everyone should read. With no major shows happening, its hard to be accurate about the big picture. So we can only tell you what we see happening with our own business. GOLD SALES In our opinion, the absolute red screaming hottest thing in the numismatic marketplace today-generic gold-but not just any-CAC stickered $10 Indians, $20 Libs, Saints all in MS64 and higher. The following happened to us this week: We posted a $20 1895 PCGS MS64 CAC at around noon. It got bought no more than a minute later! ONE MINUTE! We finally got our hands on 8 PCGS/NGC MS66 CAC'd Saints-they were gone in a flash! In fact, we are paying $3,450.00 for PCGS/NGC CAC (ONLY) MS66 Saints. We WILL buy 100 pieces of CAC ONLY MS 66 Saints sightUNSEEN (price subject to change with market fluctions). Please call or email us if you have any to sell! No one has any pieces to replenish these coins with. One of our friends who is a buyer for a major telemarketer needs a huge quantity of CAC Saints. He is dealing with many unfilled orders. Last week another major telemarketer called around to buy CAC gold and completely cleaned a few smaller wholesalers out! The big WHOLESALERS had NO CAC Saints at all. Less than 30 days ago, no one could give away certain generics. Its not the rising gold prices that have spurred demand. Many people who bought genrics from us felt more uncertainty is ahead and don't like the idea of the government spending even more money for a second jump start. Some bought the Saints, others are building MS64+ Gold Type sets. We can only pay market for NON CAC's (right now about $2,800.00) and we will NOT buy them sightUNSEEN. And we definately are the TOP buyer for PCGS MS67 CAC Saints. We have seen a HUGE market develop for CAC gold. As much as many dealers dispise CAC, the public clearly has embraced it. If nothing else, CAC will NOT sticker a doctored coin. The public is tired of buying puttied gold. The grading services are trying as hard as they can to stop the coin docs, but these guys only work harder at fooling the services. So it will be a while before these crooks are out of business and the services have taken all the bad gold off the market. OTHER SALES We saw a sales report about how many McClaren coins we have sold in the past three months to collectors. The numbers were staggering! Without even a blip in the market, we have placed several thousand GEM MS65 and higher Walkers. In fact, if anything, we think we have helped demand grow. Now collectors can find really nice PCGS/NGC CAC sickered coins to complete or start their short sets. As many of you know who have seen or bought them, the McClaren coins really are of incredible quality. Yesterday, we found a double row box of MS65+ 41S-43S Walkers. Our jaws just dropped, we are like kids in the ultimate candy store! THE BIG TICKET STUFF Oh we are still sellling expensive coins. in fact last week we sold a Pan Pac Octagonal (never listed on our site) in PCGS MS65 for well into six figures! Our biggest problem-finding nice fresh accurately graded pieces. As you saw from our partial Want List last week-if we had the coins, we'd make the sales. Regardless, we are currently working on a few world class projects that would more than prove the depth and liveliness of the upper end of the market when we complete them. WHO'S BUYING? We see a huge mix of collectors. The smaller guys are still out there buying. The middle layer of collectors (they are the group that financially got hurt the most in the economy), are slowly returning one at a time. The super rich collectors never left. They just can't find anything. We predict the 5C 1913 PCGS PR64 Liberty Nickel (the HI 5-O coin Bruce Morelan and Legend used to own) will easily find a new home at the Heritage FUN Sale. Classic rarities have only increased in demand. Ditto for the 1927D PCGS MS66 SAINT. There has always been a saying: REAL COINS BRING REAL MONEY NO MATTER WHAT THE MARKET. The good news, the speculators are long gone. We see mostly pure collectors buying at all levels. NOVEMBER We expect November to be a VERY strong month sales wise. If the "right" coins surface, people will buy them. When the Baltimore Show starts, there will also be a pent up demand by many dealers since the last major show was nearly 45 days ago! We'll be attending all the auctions and the Baltimore show itself. Its really the first time this year our expectations for a show are strong. Please call or email if you have any questions.
