$1 1874 PCGS PR64
GREAT COLORS!
Sold on
04/2009
Want a really beautiful colored Trade Dollar Proof? Check this coin out! It is not one of those dark coins you have to tilt to see the colors.
Under a strong glass a few teenie ticks and lines are visible. The mirrors are remarkably deep, crystal clear, and have tremendous reflectivity. A neon like band of blue frames the rims and opens into electric tangerine/violet centers on the obverse. The reverse has only a pinch of blue by 6:00. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is totally beautiful!
ONLY 700 pieces were minted. Certainly not all display beautiful colors like this one. PCGS 42, NGC 48. Auction records show the last one sold was back in 03/06 B+M. That coin brought 4,888.00. If you collect colored Proofs, this is a coin you won't want to miss. In PR65, it would cost you over $12,000.00-if you could find one!

CLOSE TO MS 65!
Sold on
05/2009
First off, with only ONE MS65 graded (that is in our all time finest Legend Collection), you know the pops are wrong in MS64. This is a high end coin and we would not be surprised if it has been submitted once or twice.
Having only one MS65 after 20+ years of operations is a powerful statement as to how these coins generally do NOT come-nice! Typically they are dull and crusty. This coin is not. The surfaces are extremely clean and problem free under a glass and to the naked eye. A strong luster shows off moderate lavender/champagne/gold colors that are evenly spread on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do appear boldly. The eye appeal is very pleasing.
PCGS 23, NGC 20. As we mentioned, only PCGS has graded one coin higher-and that coin will not be for sale anytime soon.

GODZILLA ORIGINAL AND BEAUTIFUL!
Sold on
11/2007
This piece is fresh and phenomenally pretty. It is one of the nicest ORIGINAL (not dipped) 1875's we have handled on a long time. Deep and highly reflective mirrors are clear, clear, and have strong flash. There are NO imperfections anywhere. Both sides are evenly covered by a gorgeous mix of forest green/blue/pale gold colors. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. Only 700 pieces were ever minted. As we stated before, this coin is fresh to market. We've seen PR66's that don't look as good. PCGS 9, NGC 6.

LOVE THIS PIECE!
Sold on
03/2008
The perfect piece if you love totally ORIGINAL MS Trade Dollars.
Shimmering surfaces have faint traces of prooflike mirrors. A booming luster enhances the moderate to deep golden brown/blue/violet colors that intermingle effortlessly. Overall, the surfaces are extremely clean-but if you look really hard using a strong glass you can see a scattered teenie tick or two. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have excellent strikes. The eye appeal of this GEM is superb! In our opinion, ALL MS Trade Dollars in MS65 and above are cheap in todays market. PCGS 19, NGC 35.

SENSATIONAL!
Sold on
06/2010
Having built the worlds FINEST MS Trade Dollar Collection has taught us everything to know about the quality of the series. To find nice and not dull anything above MS63 can be frustrating. This is one coin we bought the second we saw it!
HIGH END. The surface are smooth and have above average cleanliness. You need a strong glass to find any teenie ticks. The luster is also strong. A light hint of champagne color mixes with creamy white color and evenly covers both sides. It does NOT dull the coin at all. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is superb!
PCGS 25, NGC 18, CAC 3. The only coin graded higher by PCGS is our MS66 that is in the Legend Collection.

$1 1875CC PCGS MS64 ELIASBERG
WONDERFUL!
Sold on
02/2010
Eliasberg had the most comprehensive collection of coins EVER. Its unlikely his feats can ever be duplicated. His MS Trade Dollars were some of the finest known.
A near miss full GEM, this coin certainly is high end. Both sides are smooth, super clean, and have a decent luster. A mellow mix of champagne/golden brown/lavender evenly blankets the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have bold strikes. The originality of this coin is mind boggling! Its also still is housed in what may be its original holder from right after the sale (all coins were raw in Eliasberg). The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 25, NGC 18, CAC 3. The ONLY coin any grading service has made (a PCGS MS66) resides in our FINEST EVER MS set. This coin has it all-eye appeal, quality, rarity, and a wicked cool pedigree (which is on the old green tag holder)! The last 75CC we purchased cost us $17,500.00! A so/so coin sold in auction for $9,7750.00 03/09 Heritage. This coin blows that one away!

RIDICULOUS ULTRA HIGH END!
Sold on
07/2008
Yeah, too many of you it will sound like pure hype: this coin is ULTRA HIGH END, yada yada. However unless you have seen this coin, don't be so quick to bash us!
This coin absolutely IS better than 99% of ALL the MS 64's you'll ever see and even some MS65's! We have seen as many GEM Trade Dollars as anyone and you know we have built the all time fines set of them. The surfaces are smooth, super clean, satiny, and intensely lustrous. A gorgeous moderate mix of reddish gold/russet opens to blue rims. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have amazing strikes. This is a coin you need to see to believe. If you are on a budget and want a coin that looks like an MS65-here ya go! You do not promise it will ever MS65, but it sure has the awesome looks! Keep in mind, a PCGS MS65 CAC stickered coin would cost at least $15,000.00 today (anyone have any for sale??)

HIGH END!
Sold on
08/2008
HIGH END. While NOT a full MS65, it is not an middle 64 either.
Both sides are satiny and smooth. A decent luster (there is no such thing as an exploding luster on 76's-save for our MS67) shows off the light champagne toning. There are few teenie toning dots scattered about. Overall, this is a clean coin. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is VERy pleasing. Not really as common as the pops lead you to believe: PCGS 108, NGC 104. Keep in mind, the next step up would cost you OVER $15,000.00-if you could even find one.

ORIGINAL AND CHOICE!
Sold on
12/2008
This is a magnificent and totally original piece. The surfaces have only the faintest hints of chatter beneath the toning. To the naked eye, the coin looks clean. A decent luster shows off original shades of lavender/champagne/russet/golden brown colors that are even all over. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is VERY pleasing!
Take our word on this, CAC does not just sticker any coin-more of these get rejected than accepted. PCGS 111, NGC 111.

VERY HIGH END!
Sold on
03/2009
Have not seen or handled a choice 1876 PR TD in ages. This piece was well worth the wait!
Both sides have shimmering deep, clear, clean, and tremendously reflective watery mirrors. There are only a few light lines visible. This coin has not been cleaned and is not washed out. A small area of toning is visible at 12:00 on the obverse only. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is bold. No question this coin is a full cameo.
NOT as common as you might think. PCGS 15, NGC 14.
