$1 1897-S PCGS MS-65
A CAMEOED GEM!
Sold on
03/2008
When is the last time we handled a GEM 97S $1?? Not recently, thats for sure! Fell madly in love with this coin at first sight. It is basically a semi-prooflike cameoed GEM. There are a few teenie ticks in the fields, but none are harsh or detract. A booming luster highlights the fully frosted snowy white features. Miss Liberty and the details are about 95% fully struck. Only a few MINOR frost breaks keep this coin from an MS66 designation. Still, it has a killer cameo appearance! Housed in an older green tag holder.

$1 1897S PCGS MS65 DMPL
A FULL BLACK AND WHITE MASTERPIECE!
Sold on
11/2009
AMAZING! This coin (along with the 88O) we recently bought back from a longtime customer. You just do not see really DEEP MIRRORS like these anymore. If you have seen 97S DMPL's lately, then you will know immediately how superior this coin is!
Fact, 97S can come weak and shallow. We'd guess 70% of all 97S graded are such. This coin is not! It has FULL 8" + mirrors that exhibit remarkable clarity and cleanliness. There are a few ticks, but they are scattered and minor. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted a bold snow white. ALL of the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is a total WOW!
PCGS 33, NGC 39, CAC 2. good luck finding another 97S even close this coin! PCGS has graded 7 coins higher. If you could find an MS66 looking like this-it would easily be $10,000.00+! Housed in an older green tag holder.

$1 1898 NGC PR64 CAMEO
KILLER APPEARANCE!
Sold on
06/2010
One of the neatest looking Proofs we have seen. We seriously question the grade as we can not find any real problems. If it were in a PR 65 Cameo holder we would not question it.
Both sides have ultra icy clear mirrors that have powerful reflectivity. They are also super clean. A moderate to deeper layer of ORIGINAL mauve/purple/golden brown/violet colors mixes dramatically all across both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have thick frost. The eye appeal is really bold.
Only 735 pieces were minted. PCGS 8, NGC 13, CAC 1.

BEAUTIFUL ALBUM COLOR!
Sold on
05/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. This coin is virtual twin to the 1897 we have posted. It has the same colors and color patterns.
Both sides are amazingly clean and smooth. A strong luster highlights the moderate blushes of blue/lime/green/gold/tangerine that swirl all over both sides. We grade the colors MS65.6. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is fantastic! Keep in mind, next step up costs $6,000.00-for a regular white coin!

$1 1898O PCGS MS66
ELECTRIC RIM COLOR!
Sold on
08/2009
McCLAREN COLLECTION. Someone took a wet gasoline rag, lined it around the rim areas then lit it on fire! The obverse displays an electric flaming neon like thin band of blue/gold/violet. Just a small trace of color is one the reverse rims. The centers are blast booming white. Very few marks can be seen anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are about 95% plus fully struck. The eye appeal is incredible and then some!
