$1 1881S PCGS MS66 SONNIER COLLECTION
JINGLE BELLS!
Sold on
05/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). We named this Jingle Bells because that's what we think of when we look at it. We definitely consider this to be on the best pieces from the Sonnier Collection!
We unhesitatingly grade the colors MS69.9! They are unbelievably polychromatic and that look is enhanced by unbelievable semi-prooflike mirrors. out of this world shades of neon pearl green/royal blue/fire burst violet/red/purple/gold all swirl wildly on the obverse only. The reverse just has some gold by the rims and is white. Only under a strong glass can you find any ticks. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck.
This is a coin we will be very sad to see sell. It has sat on our desks each day we have owned it. It probably will for the new owner too. The eye appeal is THAT mindblowing!
If this coin were in a major auction, it would easily bring a run away record price. This coin is posted at our BEST price!

GORGEOUS RIM COLOR!
Sold on
01/2008
This piece is beautiful and will make your heartpound! WOW! to start, both sides have full deep 8" mirrors that have powerful reflectivity. They are extremely clean and clear. The real kick is the gorgeous blue/gold/violet colors that frame parts of the rims on both sides. It makes the boldness of heavily frosted snow white features really stand out! Also, Miss Liberty's cheek is original and has NOT been messed with. if you love DMPL's-especially ones with color, then check this jewel out. You certainly won't see many more like it! WOW! This coin is a screaming SUPERB GEM!
Both sides are graced by 8"++ deep, crystal clear, and incredibly flashy mirrors. There are only MINIMAL teenie ticks scattered about (there are more ticks on the holder)! Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted a snow white. ALL of the details are fully struck. Most important, this coin has NEVER been messed with in ANY way. The eye appeal is spectacular!
PCGS 70, NGC 99, CAC 7. We can not stress enough how rare an 81S is in true CAMEOED DMPL like this. The last one we handled was back in 2008-and we sold it for $3,900.00. Opportunity does not just knock loud, it nearly blinds you will flash here!

SONNIER COLLECTION. A spectacular colored GEM!
The technical quality is all there. Smooth and sleek looking surfaces are also semi-prooflike. An amazing luster beams from both sides. The obverse colors are a phenomenal pale and are a lightly chromatic blue/green/gold. We grade them MS67! It is a near twin to the 1886 we have posted. Never saw a color like this on a Morgan.

$1 1881S PCGS MS66 SONNIER COLLECTION
A FIREY KEY WEST SUNSET!
Sold on
05/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION. A definate close cousin to Kaboom! WOW does this coin remind us of a perfect Key West sunset!
Mind blowing electric monochromatic shades of purple/violet/royal blue/pearl green all burst on fire from the obverse. We grade these colors MS69.7! The colors can not be improved upon.
An intense luster also adds depth to the colors while showing off fairly clean surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is that wild!
Looking like this, in a major auction, this coin would sell for a runaway price. Remember, Bryan Sonnier did not just buy neat colored offered to him. He would ONLY buy the wildest and "best of the best" specimens.

$1 1881S PCGS MS66DMPL
A MONSTER BLACK AND WHITE GEM!
Sold on
10/2008
We were able to compare this piece to the coin that just sold at the Heritage sale for $4,600.00. We can absolutely state-this coin is equal or slight better!
This coin is a killer DMPL in every respect. To start, the mirrors are incredibly crystal clear, have incredible depth, are *"++++ , and have reflectivity like what you'd see on a proof! There are a few teenie ticks visible in the fields-but that is only because the mirrors are so deep. Miss Liberty's portrait is heart pounding! Ultra thick and iridescent frost illuminates her being filly struck. You just want to twirl this coin all day long to see the frost dripping. All of the other details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is WOW!
Unhesitatingly, we rank this coin in the top 5% for the grade. This is NOT a hazy or so/so coin! It is really that superior. PCGS 70, NGC 100.
