$1 1880 TRADE DOLLAR PCGS PR-63
VERY PRETTY AND HIGH END!
Sold on
03/2008
At the FUN Show auctions PR TD's went nuts. The published bids are unrealistic-but so are the prices many dealers think they can get for these. We were happy to buy one reasonably.
The quality is clearly high end. Ultra clean and strongly reflective mirrors are two of this coins many highlights. A beautiful mix of champagne/golden brown/purple/violet colors swirls evenly on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. The eye appeal is very strong. We do rank this coin in the top 5% for the grade. We just can't see why PCGS did not grade it a PR64. PCGS 131, NGC 89.

GORGEOUS!

Haven't owned a killer two tone PR 66 Trade Dollar in ages. This coin was well worth the wait!
Super high end quality. Flashy mirrors are deep, clean, and clear. A wonderful mix of blue starts at the rims and blends into a delightful purple/burnt orange color in the centers. This is NOT a dull coin at all. Miss Liberty and the details are perfectly seen and are fully struck. The overall eye appeal is terrific!

Both sides are an amazing blast snowy white. The surfaces do appear very clean. The luster is just on fire. Strong semi-prooflike mirrors are also visible. $1 1880-O PCGS MS-64
PRETTY COLORED!
Sold on
11/2007
This coin was a "no brainer" for a sticker. It is one of the few 80O's with PRETTY color we have ever seen. the technical grade is all there for an MS64. There are NO major bag marks or problems. A beautiful crescent of neon like lime/powder blue/russet/violet frames about 1/3 of the coin. Miss Liberty and the detailsl are frosted and have full strikes. Her cheek is clean overall and has not been thumbed. haven't handled an 80O in MS64 in years. Glad this one broke the drought. Keep in mind, in MS65 (if you could find one) these trade for $20,000.00+

$1 1880-O PCGS MS-64
VERY HIGH END!
Sold on
06/2008
Its been a good 2+ years since we have found an 80O we have liked enough to own. Save for a few light lines on the obverse, this coin is a stone GEM! Overall, the surfaces are lightly semi-prooflike and are amazingly clean. A full booming luster also shows off the beautiful snow white color. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. There is a slight cameo appearance to this piece. The reverse is really full MS65. Also, this piece is definitely not thumbed! And it has killer eye appeal. A ton have been graded in MS64-but the majority are not nice. Keep in mind, in true MS65, these are worth at least $20,000.00.
