$1 1881O PCGS MS64 SONNIER COLLECTION
  A VOLCANIC EXPLOSION!
Sold on 05/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on the holder). First, we grade this coin SUPER HIGH END. We actually resubmitted it twice seeking an MS65. Take our word on it, we paid a ton for it raw. This is the ONLY coin in the Sonnier Collection that we did not get the minimum grade we expected. Save for the coin in the Sunnywood/Simpson collection, we doubt you will EVER see another 81O as wildly toned.

The obverse looks like a volcano just erupted and spewed molton colors all over. Electric blue/green beams from thin bands at the rims and blands into electric violet/red then gold centers. These colors are the type you see on S Mints. We grade them MS68.8! The reverse has thin blue at the rims and light patches of golden brown scattered about.

An unusual intense headlight luster illuminates both sides. The surfaces appear clean overall (only under a strong glass can you see a few scattered ticks). Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck.

No kidding, this coin is an absolute MONSTER COLORED GEM. Had we gotten an MS65, we'd have valued this coin at $15,000.00. Try and find another like it, we sure haven't seen any we recall.

This coin is posted at our BEST price!

$1 1881S PCGS MS66 SONNIER COLLECTION
  JINGLE BELLS!
Sold on 05/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). We named this Jingle Bells because that's what we think of when we look at it. We definitely consider this to be on the best pieces from the Sonnier Collection!

We unhesitatingly grade the colors MS69.9! They are unbelievably polychromatic and that look is enhanced by unbelievable semi-prooflike mirrors. out of this world shades of neon pearl green/royal blue/fire burst violet/red/purple/gold all swirl wildly on the obverse only. The reverse just has some gold by the rims and is white. Only under a strong glass can you find any ticks. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck.

This is a coin we will be very sad to see sell. It has sat on our desks each day we have owned it. It probably will for the new owner too. The eye appeal is THAT mindblowing!

If this coin were in a major auction, it would easily bring a run away record price. This coin is posted at our BEST price!

$1 1879O PCGS MS65 SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON
  A FANTASTIC OBVERSE RAINBOW!
Sold on 04/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. Not your typical 1879O. The obverse has a light to moderate rainbow effect.

Vibrant and soothing colors of champagne/baby blue/pale purple/gold/pale violet all blend into each other in a large rainbow pattern. An intense luster makes the colors really shimmer and glow. Keep in mind, these are NOT electric S Mint colors-we grade them MS66.6. A few tiny tick are scattered about, otherwise this coin is high end for the grade. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The reverse has light gold toning. Overall, the eye appeal is fantastic!

For some reason, this coin is still imaged in the Sunnywood/Simpson collection.

$1 1878CC PCGS MS65 SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON
  A NEON BLUE/GREEN STUNNER!
Sold on 06/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON (not on holder). We grade the electric colors lock MS67.3. Rarely will you see ORIGINAL blue on any Morgan-let alone a better CC!

The reverse is 1/3 covered by a neat crescent of blue/violet/green/gold. The obverse has shimmering gold/pale violet rims that open into electric icy azure blue centers. Both sides have a nearly blinding booming luster. Only very teenie ticks can be seen under a strong glass. Overall, the coin appears clean and smooth. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is PHENOMENAL!

$1 1881S PCGS MS65 SONNIER COLLECTION
  A GLOWING BALL OF FIRE!
Sold on 04/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). This coin has light burlap bag toning. We grade the toning MS67.4.

An intense luster highlights both sides and makes the red/pale violet/gold/amber colors really stand out. There are light freckles in the center. Some pale blue can be seen around the rims. Both sides have a high voltage headlight luster. The surfaces are lightly smei-prooflike and have just a few ticks. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. Of course this coin is eye popping!

$1 1885O PCGS MS65 SONNIER COLLECTION
  FIRE IN THE SKY!
Sold on 04/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). This is a vibrant, not electric ORIGINAL BURLAP BAG TEXTILE TONED GEM!

We named it "Fire in the Sky" because it looks like a glowing ball of fire in the evening. The left side of the obverse is primarily red/violet and blends into bright amber/gold on the right. The textile dots actually are a pale blue/green. We grade the colors MS67.3. A full booming cartwheel luster shows off the colors and also the cleanliness of the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is like a flaming ball of fire! Take our word on this, Bryan Sonnier did not pick any average colored coins for his collection.

$1 1890CC PCGS MS65 SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON
ONE OF THE PRETTIEST COLROED 90CC'S!
Sold on 09/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. When Sunnywood was building his incredible collection, he searched everywhere for the wildest colored and best quality Morgans he could find. When he sold us the collection, this coin was in the set. It took our buying the Sonnier Collection for this 90CC to be bumped out (or "fired" as the new owner likes to say). This is one of the prettiest colored 90CC's you will EVER see! Its also in the new PCGS Secure Plus holder. We strongly disagree w/PCGS and think it should be a +.

BOTH sides are loaded with color. A full booming luster shows off vibrant shades of pear green/reddish gold/blue/pale violet that all swirl together. We grade these non S Mint shades an MS66.7. Also, using a strong glass, you will find few marks. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. The eye appeal is fabulous!

We can not stress enough the rarity of this date and grade with beautiful original color like this! If this was the best Sunnywood could do, your probably not going to be able to top it!

$1 1879S PCGS MS65 SONNIER COLLECTION
  KABOOM!
Sold on 04/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). Real simple, named this monster after our favorite 4th of July Fireworks display (held every year in Red bank NJ)-KABOOM!

True to its nickname, this coin is real firecracker. The obverse has MS69.7 colors. Monster chromatic shades of skyrocket pearl greens/sparkler violets/exploding amber swirl together wildly while evenly covering the surfaces. Super bold semi-prooflike mirrors combine with an intense luster to give you the ultimate in radiation.

Technically, this coin is a solid MS65. Only under a strong glass can you see a few ticks. Nothing is visible or detracts from the colors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is a total KABOOM! This is the kind of coin that in major auction would bring a run away price. Typical MONSTER COLOR for Sonnier, but extremely rare to the rest of the planet!

$1 1878S PCGS MS65 SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON
  MOTTLED ELECTRIC COLORS!
Sold on 06/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION (not on the holder). Electric colors!

Looks like psycho bag colors. The colors are somewhat mottled so you can't see any textile dots. Only the obverse is coated with reds/violets/pearl greens/tangerines/patches of golden brown. A full booming luster makes the colors appear like a neon sign. We grade the colors MS67.8.

The quality of this coin actually is high end-even though the new Secure Plus holder does not have a +. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The reverse is full MS65++. Of course the eye appeal is incredible.

$1 1921 MORGAN PCGS MS66 SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON
  HEARTPOUNDING!
Sold on 04/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. This happens to be a date we do see with color from time to time-only the colors are a muted or mottled UGLY golden brown (for whatever reason). This is the first really pretty color scheme we can recall seeing on this date.

The left obverse displays a 1/4 crescent while the reverse is completely toned. No question the colors are original. The obverse has blue/violet/gold/pale green that's lightly glowing. The reverse has the same but the colors swirl together and are more muted. A full luster enhances the colors.

Housed in the new PCGS Secure Plus holder, this coin is NOT designated a +. We disagree as we feel the technical grade is VERY high end. Just a few light frost breaks are visible. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have extra sharp strikes. Of course the eye appeal is wonderful.

Forget about the fact this coin is rare with color. As a date in MS66, 1921's seem a tad undervalued and underrated. The pops are : PCGS 291, NGC 407, CAC 20. PCGS has graded ONLY 7 coins in MS67. with those numbers, if it were a CC it would be worth at least $4,000.00 WHOLESALE.
