1861 SEATED $1 PCGS PR-64
  VERY CHOICE!
Sold on 07/2007
Can't say we've seen many of the 23 coins appear lately. This piece is pleasing and has pretty color. The mirrors are very strong and do offer good clarity. Both sides are primarily covered by a light golden brown with highlights of purple/blue colors. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is excellent! Of the 1000 minted, most were melted. it is estimated that less than 500 pieces survive in any grade. Pop. PCGS 23 / NGC 23

1860 $1 PCGS PR-64
  PLEASING!
Sold on 09/2007
Near GEM quality. PCGS probably just thought it was a bit too dark (they are all about brightness and flash). The mirrors are surprisingly clean and have strong reflectivity. Both sides are evenly covered by a rick mix of navy/purple/blue/reddish gold. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and do stand out. Of the 1300 minted for PR Sets, most were melted due to weak sales. PCGS 45, NGC 38.

$1 1873 STD PCGS MS-64
  VERY HIGH END!
Sold on 04/2008
"GEM MS64" STD Dollars really are every bit as rare as the MS65's. You just do not see many of them offered any more. This coin is close to MS65. Both sides are sleek, clean, have traces of semi-proof like mirrors, and are original. An even layer of navy/olive/blue colors is deep but not dull or dark. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. There are NO eye sores on this coin! PCGS 19, NGC 19. We would happily pay $35,000.00 sight-UNSEEN for ANY PCGS MS65-try us! This is why ANY STD high end MS64 coin at below $10,000.00 is a good value.

THIS COIN IS HARD TO IMAGE, SO WE HAVE ELECTED NOT TO POST ONE. You can trust our description!

$1 1873-CC STD PCGS AU-55
  INCREDIBLE! EX JAMES STACK
Sold on 02/2008
WOW! if you have been searching for the "right" 73CC in AU, then here it is! This coin has been tucked away for years with a one of the sharpest Seated Collectors around. It is by far one of the prettiest 73CC's we have EVER seen!

The James Stack Collection was famous for ALL its dollars. This coin was one of the great highlights along with his FINEST KNOWN 70S and 71CC (now in the Legend Collection as a PCGS MS64). It was also famous for the stunning ring toning (album toning) found on each coin. This piece has phenomenal blue/gold/green color rings. The surfaces actually show vry little wear, just a few light lines. There actually is a stong luster on both sides. Plus, Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. This coin is closer to an AU58, then an AU53! you won't find a better looking 73CC. PCGS has possibly only graded 5 coins finer. There were ONLY 2300 pieces ever minted. We know our Seated Dollars (having helped build the all time finest EVER set) , take our word on this, you will go a lifetime searching for a better AU! PCGS 7, NGC 2.

This coin is mis attributed. The holder says carter, however the coin clearly is from the James Stack Collection-EVEN BETTER!

$1 1795 SMALL EAGLE PCGS AU-58
  UNBELIEVABLE!
Sold on 04/2008
WOW, WOW, WOW! Only once before (maybe 10 years ago) have we ever seen a Bust Dollar that was similar. The best description of this piece; it is a GEM CAMEOED AU.

Yes, it was dipped a long time ago. NONE of the surfaces has been taken off and the luster certainly has not been impaired. A pale light gold color is starting to reform. The surfaces are remarkably clean. Miss Liberty and the details stand out with practically NO visible wear. They have phenomenal heavy frost though. This coin is far superior to 99.9% of the AU58 Bust Dollars you will see. And of course being all white, thats VERY rare. PCGS 11, NGC 1.

$1 1863 PCGS PR-64
  ONLY 460 MINTED!
Sold on 01/2008
Very close to full PR65 status. A heavy layer of rich purple/pale blue/tangerine/gold colors evenly covers both sides. They are NOT DULL or smoky. The mirrors are decent and have zero imperfections visible. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike. You can tell that this coin simply sat undisturbed for most of its 145 year existance. Just 460 pieces were minted. PCGS 37, NGC 38.

$1 1868 PCGS MS-62
  RARE AND HIGH END!
Sold on 04/2008
We can not stress enough the great quality and rarity this coin displays. After 20+ years of grading, PCGS has only certified possibly 14 pieces higher in MS. The finest is the MS66 we have in our set. You certainly do not see this date ofen!

Fantastic surfaces are sleek extremely clean (which is unusual), not messed with (also unusual), and do offer a decent luster. The color is a deeper pewter gray. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. It really is hard to tell why this is just an MS62. Still, it is a nearly impossible date and grade to find. PCGS 5, NGC 1.

$1 1864 PCGS MS65
  A ROCK SOLID MS65.9+!
Sold on 01/2008
Housed in an older green tag PCGS holder. We paid a premium for this incredible GEM and are in no rush to sell it. It is unquestionably a 65.9+ and is virtually equal to the 1864 PCGS MS66 we paid $150,000.00 4 years ago that is in the Legend Collection (the $1 set of MS Setaed Dollars EVER)!

Unlike so many other Seated Dollars, this piece has virtually NO marks anywhere. its pretty clean above the eagles head (where we have seen marks on MS66's). The surfaces are also satiny in texture and emit a bold luster. The color is a creamy white. Miss Liberty and the details are incredibly struck and do have light frost. The eye appeal is terrific!

It is Legends goal to buy all the GEM STD $1 that come on the market. We think that BELOW $75,000.00 ALL N/M Mottos are steals, and below $60,000.00 the same for W/M pieces. For N/M's, after 20+ years of certification, PCGS possibly has only graded 49 pieces in MS65, with just 10 coins higher! Keep in mind, that references at least 31 different dates. PCGS 6, NGC 7.

$1 1836 ORIGINAL PCGS PR-64 J-060
  SUPER HIGH END!
Sold on 02/2008
This is the Original Coin Alignment set up. No question this piece is Super High end. In fact, we do not see why PCGS won't 65 it except they may feel its a touch dark. What chickens!

This is piece is all there and then some. Unlike so many other Gobrechets, this piece has mirrors! They are fairly deep, have NO problems, have amazing clarity, and and are remarkably reflective. A gorgeous mix of deep royal blue/pale purple colors swirl over both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are so fully struck they appear almost in 3-D! The eye appeal is mesmerizing! Had this been graded 65, it would be worth at least $125,000.00. PCGS has graded only 13 coins with NONE higher. This definatly is a coin you need to see in person-the image may not do it justice!

$1 1866 MOTTO PCGS PR-64 CAMEO
  HOT!
Sold on 07/2008
This is a clear cut PR64++ Cameo. Ultra deep and "liquid" like mirrors have NO visible flaws. Only a few stray lines can be seen under a glass. The reflectivity and clarity are tremendous. A light hint of purple frames the rims. Miss Liberty and the details boldly stand out with full strikes and heavy creamy white frost. The eye appeal is superb!

Only 725 pieces were minted. PCGS 10, NGC 14. The last PCGS PR64 Cameo to sell in auction sold for $8,625.00 in 05/07 at a Heritage sale. In PR65, these are worth $13,000.00+.
