$1 1873 STD PCGS MS65
  INCREDIBLE!
Sold on 03/2009
Having assembled the ALL TIME FINEST EVER MS Collection, we know what these magnificent GEMs should look like. We also know, that WITH MOTTOS actually are VERY rare and in some cases, rarer than NO Mottos!

This coin is an absolute HIGH END GEM! It is NOT an MS64 in a MS65 holder. Overall, the surfaces are major league clean (there is some MINOR chatter in the right field visible ONLY w/a glass) and satiny. A bold luster highlights both sides. Adding to the killer eye appeal is a thin ring of golden brown color on the obverse only. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is tremendous!

The great rarity of ANY date MS Seated Dollar in GEM can NOT be exaggerated. So many either saw circulation, or simply were mishandled resulting in lower grade survival rates.

PCGS 5, NGC 4. Only PCGS has one higher-and that's locked away in our all time finest ever set. This piece qualifies as a killer type coin or an amazing coin for a Seated Set. Either way, you will have a coin you won't see offered in many auctions or at every show! Last year we bought a nicely toned specimen out of auction for $63,250.00 1/08 Heritage. You can't buy these at or any where near published "BID" prices.

  VERY HIGH END!
Sold on 04/2009
A totally original and VERY high end coin!

Technically, we grade the coin an MS64. It is ultra clean. There is a strong luster however it is muted by heavy blue/pale purple toning on the obverse and pale purple/pewter on the reverse. This is NOT a dark or black coin. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally well struck. The eye appeal is not bad at all. We still can't get over how clean this coin is.

PCSG 36, NGC 38.

  ULTRA HIGH END!
Sold on 06/2009
We bought this coin from one of the best "crackout " dealers in the biz. he took a huge loss on it. The coin definitely is ULTRA high end. Everyone seems to agree the obverse is a full PR65 while the reverse is PR64+. PCGS obviously grades it 64. We have definitely seen worse in higher holders!

The obverse is a full cameoed GEM! Incredible glassy mirrors that make your heart pound are ultra clean, crystal clear, and have killer reflectivity. The reverse and the peripheries of the obverse are covered by a dusky violet/pewter color (it is NOT dark or dull). Miss Liberty and the details clearly stand out with needle sharp strikes and thick snowy white frost. The eye appeal will make your eyes pop out!

ONLY 500 were ever minted. PCGS 14, NGC 17.

  AN AMAZING SPECIMEN!
Sold on 04/2009
This is only the second MS 1801 we have ever handled (the other was the Flannagan PCGS MS63, now a MS64). Most important-this coin is a real HIGH END MS62, not an AU58 in an MS62 holder!

Spectacular shimmering surfaces are remarkably clean, semi-prooflike, and have a bold luster. Only under a glass can you detect a few light lines. The colors are totally original and consist or blue/pale purple/golden brown. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. There are NO discolorations or rub on the high points. The reverse is full MS63 quality. You can not beat this coins amazing eye appeal.

The rarity of any MS 1801 Dollar is undisputed. PCGS 4, NGC 4. PCGS has graded only the MS64 and a 65 higher. The last MS62 that was in auction sold for only $39,100.00 in 11/08 Stacks.

Legend Numismatics is pleased to offer this rare and spectacular piece to collectors. It will be a highlight of any collection!

  A GLITTERING GEM!
Sold on 04/2009
GEMMY APPEARANCE!

Deep, glassy, clear, clean, and highly reflective mirrors cover both sides. A delicate coating of gold goes from light in the centers to deeper gold/violet by the rims. There are no visible problems. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and fully struck. The eye appeal is wonderful!

Only 960 were ever minted. PCGS 8, NGC 6. PCGS has graded NONE in PR65 and 2 in PR66. The last one to sell in a major public auction brought $7,475.00 09/08 Heritage. You just can not go to a show and find one of these!

  FROSTY AND CHOICE!
Sold on 05/2009
Anyone who tells you a choice MS Seated Dollar is common, is nuts! These are so hard to find nice.

Overall, the quality of this coin is 63+. There are a few MINOR ticks and lines scattered about, but the appearance is very clean. An amazing luster shows off a hint of toning and a satiny texture. This coin was not messed with and definitely has freshness. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have exceptional strikes. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 13, NGC 12. Hard to believe, PCGS has graded 27 coins higher (of which 2 are MS65's that are impounded in major collections). A nice MS64 will cost you at least $10,000.00 (the last one auctioned was an NGC coin which sold for $9,200.00 in 08). Opportunity knocks loud here!

  CLOSE TO FULL CAMEO!
Sold on 05/2009
We acquired this coin from a long time collector customer of ours. He has owned it many years. The coin is still in an older green tag PCGS holder.

The quality is high end, but we do not think this coin is "crackout" material. Super deep and crystal clear mirrors have just a few light lines in the right field. The reflectivity this coin offers is intense. A thin band of gold frames the rims. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. You do see silvery white frost on the details. The eye appeal is beautiful!

Only 725 minted. PCGS 65, NGC 41.

  HIGH END AND GORGEOUS!
Sold on 08/2009
Originally we placed this coin in what we know to be the #2 set of MS Seated Dollars. Recently we replaced it with a stunning GEM MS65 1853 (which cost us six figures). One look and you can see why this was in a GEM set.

At first glance, the coin does appear to look like a low end MS65. The surfaces are extremely clean, smooth, and velvety looking. A surprisingly strong luster shows off a pretty light to moderate mix of pewter/pale blue/pale purple colors. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck with only minor weakness visible on the bottom stars. This is not a date that quality wise comes looking nice. The eye appeal of this piece however IS exceptional!

PCGS 13, NGC 34. Keep in mind, after 20+ years of operations (and this series being one of David Halls all time favorites-so PCGS is real tight on how it grades these) PCGS has only graded TWO in MS65 (both locked up tight in major sets) and one lone MS66. It is our strong opinion after years and years of searching for the finest GEM MS Seated Dollars, this date is grossly underrated and undervalued.

J-84 RESTRIKE 1838 PCGS PR65
  A GLITTERING HIGH END GEM!
Sold on 12/2009
This stunning piece is an R-5 (31-75 Minted) and is unquestionably one of the FINEST KNOWN for the date!

At first glance, this coin looks like a large freshly made medal! There are really NO imperfections visible-even when using a strong glass. The mirrors are mind boggling in depth, clarity, and reflectivity. An even and light shade of vibrant pewter covers the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is tremendous!

Having assembled the FINEST Pattern set EVER, we know how these come.Typically, most Gobrechts we have seen are dull, crusty, and dark. Few have mirrors that really flash. And sadly, most Gobrechts are cleaned. This coin just blows them all away!

PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 1. The last one to appear in major public auction prior to this piece was an NGC coin that sold for $149,500.00 04/08 Heritage. If you seek one special Gobrecht piece for your collection, look no further. Legend Numismatics proudly owns and is offering for sale this amazing coin.

  VERY CHOICE!
Sold on 10/2009
An exceptionally rare and undervalued date in choice and higher condition.

Seldom do we encounter totally original examples of the early 40's dates that are so choice and original. A surprising strong enhances a beautiful mix of golden brown/blue/pale purple colors that are evenly spread across both sides. Only if you use a strong glass can you find any smallish ticks-they are not really visible to the naked eye. For identification purposes, there is a small toning dot in the left obverse field. The eye appeal of this coin is fabulous!

The great rarity of these in choice and higher is unquestioned. PCGS 5, NGC 7 WITH NONE HIGHER AT EITHER SERVICE! CAC 3. If a PCGS MS65 CAC were ever made, we'd gladly pay OVER $100,000.00 for it!
