Half Dollars:Reeded Edge

50C 1839 RE PCGS MS64
  KILLER PERIPHERIAL COLORS!
Sold on 09/2009
VERY HIGH END QUALITY!

Amazing rim colors of neon blue/gold/pale purple form a thin band around only the outer rims. The centers have a creamy white color that is illuminated by a very strong luster. Both sides are exceptionally clean and reveal few marks even when using a strong glass. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. The colors make this coin almost look cameoed. The eye appeal is a full WOW!

PCGS 41, NGC 43, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only six coins higher (5 65's and one MS66). An MS 65 will set you back at least $25,000.00-if you can find one!

50C 1941-1947 PDS SHORT SET PCGS MS65
EACH COINS IS HIGH END AND SUPERB!
Sold on 09/2009
Hard to believe, but out of 5,000+ GEM Walking Liberty Halves in the McClaren Collection, this is the ONLY MS65 CAC set (either PCGS or NGC) we have been able to assemble-so far. And forget about building an MS66 set! Much to our surprise, the last coin we needed was the 1942 P.

Each coin was handpicked by the principals of Legend. We tried to be as uniform as possible. It was our mission to make this a VERY high end set. Cleanliness, luster, and strike were all top priorities-and we did not accept any coin with a problem. Eye appeal counted heavily too. Some coins have light toning and some are more white. We used the same standards as we would when building world class collections like the Legend MS Trade Dollar Collection or the Law Collection of MS Seated Half Dimes. No one will knock the quality or eye appeal of any of the coins in this set!

Sorry, we could not take images of the coins.

With Walkers so reasonable, we think this set makes a great "put away" group of coins.

  A PHENOMENAL NEAR FULL CAMEO!
Sold on 10/2009
ULTRA HIGH END QUALITY.

It would NOT be a lie to call this coin a cameo. The ONLY thing that keeps PCGS from designating it as such-the sun has no frost. Every other detail is thickly frosted a killer snowy silvery white. There is stunning contrast!

Also, the mirrors are ultra deep, crystal clear (zero haze), and have awesome reflectivity. Miss Liberty and the details are also pinpoint sharp in strike. Your jaw will drop and lock and the drool will flow out like Niagara Falls when you see this stunning GEM! We saw this coin from several feet away and stopped to see it. We're glad we did!

PCGS 455, NGC 333, CAC 17. You can buy these cheaper. But they will be hazy, have not contrast, and no mirrors. This coin is a world class superstar! We do rank it in the top 5% for the grade.

50C 1941 PCGS MS67
  INCREDIBLE!
Sold on 10/2009
McCLAREN COLLECTION. This is what a killer MS67 Walking Liberty Half should look like! WOW!

Both sides are sensationally clean, smooth, satiny, and have an intense booming luster. Even using a strong glass, you will find NO problems. The color is a creamy white. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and boldly stand out. The eye appeal is tremendous! This is NOT an MS66 in an MS67 holder! In fact, this coin is VERY close to full MS68 quality.

PCGS 419, NGC 517, CAC 45. Yes, you can buy "average" MS67's for less. One look and you will totally agree-this coin is far superior to average!

  A TOTALLY ORIGINAL GEM!
Sold on 09/2009
McCLAREN COLLECTION. This SUPERB GEM is virtually perfect! No question it is completely original.

Both sides are amazingly clean, smooth, and satiny. Even the dreaded right field has no hits. A strong blazing luster also shows of tiny areas of light russet colors around the rims. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and boldly stand out. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 204, NGC 295, CAC 21. One of the more scarcer MS67 dates of the "commoner" 40's-yet its priced at no premium.

  A BLASTY SNOW WHITE COIN!
Sold on 10/2009
McClaren Collection. VERY HIGH END QUALITY!

We do not see many blasty snow white GEMs's of this date. The luster is definitely intense. Both sides have clean and smooth surfaces. Only using a strong glass can you detect a few light lines-no hits. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have sharp strikes. You do not need a glass to see the split thumb or full skirt lines. The eye appeal is fabulous!

PCGS 663, NGC 441, CAC 14.

  A SHIMMERING SUPERB GEM!
Sold on 10/2009
McCLAREN COLLECTION. VERY high end quality. Superb in every respect too!

This coin is just drenched with a full booming blast white luster. You don't have to twirl it to see the power. The surfaces are remarkably clean-even the dreaded right field has no visible imperfections. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. You do not need a glass to see the split in the thumb or all the skirt lines. This coin is what an MS67 is supposed to be. The eye appeal is super!

PCGS 290, NGC 475, CAC 26. This coin definitely is NOT an MS66 in a MS67 holder!

  GEM SNOW WHITE!
Sold on 09/2009
MCCLAREN COLLECTION. WOW! This is the way you want your Walkers to look-GEM SNOWY WHITE!

Both sides blaze with an intense booming luster. The surfaces stand out as being extra clean and smooth (just a light frost break or two can be found with a glass). No question the quality is High End. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is bold.

PCGS 662, NGC 552, CAC 15.

  THE REAL DEAL!
Sold on 11/2009
This is a fresh and great coin we recently acquired from a major collector of Walkers (no, not all the Walkers we handle are McClaren!). One look and you can easily see how picky this collector was.

First thing we always check, how clean are the right fields? Well, this coin has complete cleanliness in ALL fields! There is no toning and a full booming luster highlights both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and really stand out. The eye appeal is terrific!

  SNOWY WHITE!
Sold on 10/2009
McCLAREN COLLECTION. These "middle" date Walkers actually are not as common as you might in true GEM. Typically, they come dull and crusty.

This piece is a full blasty snow white. The luster is intense. There are a few tiny marks in the right obverse field, otherwise, this coin is clean overall. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have sharp strikes. You do not need a glass to see the split thumb or the skirt lines. The eye appeal is flashy and nice!

PCGS 684, NGC 312, CAC 17.
