WAY TOO COOL!
Sold on
08/2007
WOW! For just being an MS63, this coin sure seems like a GEM! Both sides are amazingly smooth, clean, and do offer some light luster. The color is an ORIGINAL even chocolate brown with two tiny toning spots on the obverse. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and appear boldly. The eye appeal is terrific! We think it should be a crime that a great rarity and older coin like this is being by passed up for todays Modern junk. At todays levels, coins like this are steals! PCGS 17 (w/only 9 higher),NGC 15.

WICKED COOL!
Sold on
06/2008
BUCKEYE II COLLECTION. One of the few Half cents of ANY date we have ever seen with real and incredibly flashy mirrors. You don't have to ask yourself if this coin is really Proof! Both sides not only seek to blind you with flash, but they reveal NO marks. A faint hint of blue/green color beams across the surfaces. Of course Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is gorgeous.
Only 225 pieces were ever minted. Not many survive in terrific looking condition like this GEM. PCGS 7, NGC 4.
It is our strong opinion that NICE coins like this are "stupid cheap" today. This coin was not in any recent auction either.

SET 1901 NGC PR66-68*
AN AMAZING ORIGINAL MATCHED SET!
Sold on
02/2008
An amazing set that is fresh to the market. This is only the third intact 1901 set we ever remember seeing. TWO of those sets have ben broken up. We have actually seen more 1865 sets!
Each coin is VERY HIGH END quality and is beauty matched with gorgeous ORIGINAL colors. this is NOT a dull or dark set.
1C NGC PR66RD.Gorgeous! Glittering deep mirrors are clear and are remarkably clean. A few teenie toning dots are visible under magnification. The color is a stunning GEM Mint RD. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike. This piece has NEVER been messed with.
5C NGC PR66 Superb! Even if this coin wasn't in this remarkable PR Set you'd buy it for its high end quality and beautiful eye appeal. The mirrors are sleek, clear, and clean. A gentle mix of lilac/gold hugs the some of the rims. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike.
10C NGC PR67*. This piece is all there and then some! Absolutely perfect mirrors are evenly covered by a pale purple/champagne color on the obverse and teh same w/hints of blue green on the reverse. You can celarly see the crystal clear, clean, and powerful mirrors. Miss Liberty and the detaisl are fully struck. This is NOT a dull or drab coin!
25C NGC PR67* CAMEO. You NEVER see 25C in Cameo or so colorful! Like on the Dime and the rest of the coins in this set, this coin displays virgin mirrors that are super deep, crsytal clear, clean, and highly reflective. Matching everything else, this coin also has the pale purrple/blue/green colorations.
50C NGC PR68* CAMEO. WOW, WOW, WOW! Break up this set and put this coin in a major auction and see what happens. This coin WILL bring a runaway price! Unbelievable mirrors are the ultimate in perfection, clarity, and blast. The coloration (which matches all the other coins) is heartpounding. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and are boldly frosted. We have NEVER seen ANY 1901 PR Barber Half that comes close to the monster eye appeal this piece has.
$1 NGC PR67. The silent star of the set. This coin is a borderline cameo. The ultra deep, crystal clear, perfecly clean, and powerfully reflective mirrors are just midboggling. They are boldly blanketed by the same electric colors the other coins in the set have. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and do have plenty of frost. The last NGC PR67Cameo that sold was 01/07 and that was for $43,125.00! One look and you'll confirm how close this is to full cameo.
The exceptional quality of this rare set is unquestionable. Even the CAC graders commented how much they love this set. You will NEVER see a more fresher, original, and eye popping 1901 set. Keep in mind, the majority of these were broken up long ago because many collectors needed the Morgan (which was cheaper than the MS version) for their sets.
Price wise, this set in our opinion isn't just a good value, its a bargain. The break up value of these coins in an auction most likely is more than what we are asking! Only 813 were ever minted. We estimate fewer than a dozen survive intact, let alone in Superb GEM.
A killer set for the astute buyer who seeks a cool acquistion with unlimited potential.

SET 1876 NGC PR 65-67*
AN ORIGINAL MATCHED RARITY!
Sold on
03/2008
Now for something completely different! When was the last time you recall seeing a matched totally original PR Set from the 1870's? The last 1876 set we saw, was a low grade one (Pr62-65) we handled about 15 years ago. We consider a set like this a true numismatic miracle. Each coin is pristine and is truly a GEM. Do not let the mintage of 1,150 fool you. Our guess is maybe LESS than a dozen sets still survive intact in ANY grade.
1C NGC PR65RB. Even deeper RB color. The surfaces are flawless. All of the details are pinpoint sharp in strike.
3CN NGC PR66. Above average quality and eye appeal. This is an original coin that clearly has NOT been dipped out. The mirrors are strong and have no problems. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck.
5C NGC PR65. Looks the same as the 3CN. Strong mirrors offer no imperfections. The details are needle sharp. Oh would the crackout guys love to dip this beauty!
10C NGC PR67. Now we're talking some serious coin. This piece has bold mirrors that are clear, clean, and have powerful flash. A gorgeous mix of purple/aqua blue covers both sides. The details are all perfectly struck. The quality is really 67+!
20C NGC PR66* CAMEO. WOW! This beauty is the same color scheme as all the other coins. It has something a bit unusual for a 20C piece: killer mirrors. Even with the toning, you can see the clarity and flash. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do have strong frost. The surfaces are perfect. We think this coin easily ranks in the top 2% for the grade!
25C NGC PR67*. Yes, it just gets better as the coins get bigger. Like all the others, this coin has amazing deep, clear, and glittering mirrors. The same color scheme as all other coins is also clearly visible. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have strong frost. We do not understand why this piece was not designated a cameo.
50C NGC PR66*/. Can't take our eyes off this jewel! If it were a stand alone coin, we'd probably crack it and try for a PR67. Super deep, crystal clear, and incredibly flashy mirrors highlight both sides. The colors scheme covers this coin well and blends in exactly with all the other coins. Miss Liberty and the details boldly stand out with full strikes and heavy frost. This is NOT your typical dull Half!
$1 NGC PR65* CAMEO. Clearly this is a PR65+. NGC got crazy picky and probably didn't 66 for a small cut HIDDEN in the right obverse field. Regardless, this piece is a monster! The mirrors are deep, clear, clean overall, and remarkably reflective. The colors are 100% true to the rest of the set. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes.
This is one of the neatest matched original sets we have EVER handled. You rarely ever see them so matched an original from the 1870's. We can not stress enough how beautiful and incredibly RARE this set is. As time goes on, you will see fewer sets like this appear. Today, there is very little premium for matched original sets. This set represents an opportunity of a life time! If you have junk lying around, "dead" coins, or dupes, why not unload them to get into something like this?
