H.10 1864S PCGS MS66
FABULOUS!
Sold on
02/2010
Do not be fooled by the pops (they are wrong) this date and grade is far rarer than you think! We happen to know someone who has 3 64S MS66 tags-all from this coin!
The quality is VERY high end. A little more life and it would be an MS67. Both sides are exceptionally smooth and clean. A good luster shows off moderate shades of original golden brown/pale green/russet primarily by the peripheries. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do appear boldly. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 5, NGC 6, CAC 2. There are NO MS67's graded anywhere. The last auction record for one of these was back in 2000 where it realized $4,025.00. Opportunity knocks loud here!

Superb in every respect!
Gorgeous totally original surfaces are everything they are supposed to be: clean (only under a strong glass can you find a scattered tick or two), smooth, and lustrous. A beautiful mix of gold/pale olive/pale violet/blue colors swirl effortlessly on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and appear boldly. The eye appeal is VERY pleasing!
Do not let the pops fool you. Choice coins from 1839 do not appear with any frequency. PCGS 15, NGC 12, CAC 3. PCGS has graded 3 in MS65 and none higher.

$3 1854 PCGS MS65
GORGEOUS!
Sold on
02/2010
If you think finding another $3 1854 that looks like this is easy-we have not handled one in six years! It is surprising that you can not find these at all. Plus, we doubt that even if you did find one, it would be as VERY HIGH END quality like this coin.
No question this coin is a MS65+. Even using a powerful glass, there are NO imperfections, spots, or stains. The surfaces are satiny and boom with a strong luster. Both sides have an even light gold/yellow gold mix with some reddish gold on the right reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is really is gorgeous and then some.
PCGS 18, NGC 11, CAC 4. PCGS has graded possibly 7 coins higher. These are NOT considered to be generics. A generic is the 1878 in MS65 which has a PCGS pop of 173 pieces. Opportunity knocks loud for someone building a GEM $3 set or special Type set.
