50C 1891 PCGS MS65
A KILLER CAMEO PROOFLIKE GEM!
Sold on
06/2010
EX BEAR COLLECTION (not on the holder) and who says all Bears do is sleep and eat honey? Its a little known fact they happen to have a keen eye for high end rarities as well!
Super high end quality. So long as you are wearing good sunglasses, the nearly blinding intense luster of this piece will make you jaw drop. The surfaces are clean and are fully deep mirrored. There is no toning or haze. The color is a creamy white. This is NOT a dipped out or messed with piece. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have thick white frost. They boldly stand out. The eye appeal is just amazing.
PCGS 23, NGC 20, CAC 5.

$1 1873 SEATED PCGS MS65+
A STUNNING GEM!
Sold on
06/2010
Yes, this coin has been designated a + by PCGS in their new grading system! Having assembled the all time finest MS Seated Dollar Collection, we know how these should come. This coin is definitely all there and then some-and BOTH PCGS and CAC fully agree!
Strong quality. Smooth yet shimmering surfaces are original (vs dipped out). The intense luster shows off virtually no marks. Some light golden brown color frames the stars on the obverse and some of the letters on the reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is fantastic!
PCGS 5, NGC 4, CAC 4. The last one to appear in major public auction sold for $63,250.00 in 1/2009 Heritage. The lone MS66 is impounded in our FINEST EVER MS Seated Dollar Collection. GEM MS Seated Dollars are still underpriced.

A NEON BLUE/GREEN STUNNER!
Sold on
06/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON (not on holder). We grade the electric colors lock MS67.3. Rarely will you see ORIGINAL blue on any Morgan-let alone a better CC!
The reverse is 1/3 covered by a neat crescent of blue/violet/green/gold. The obverse has shimmering gold/pale violet rims that open into electric icy azure blue centers. Both sides have a nearly blinding booming luster. Only very teenie ticks can be seen under a strong glass. Overall, the coin appears clean and smooth. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is PHENOMENAL!

HIGH END!
Sold on
06/2010
This is a "no brainer" high end coin. It stood out in the dealers box!
Only a few LIGHT and wispy lines keep this coin from a full PR65 designation. The mirrors are deep, clear, clean, and have powerful reflectivity. A gorgeous band of reddish gold/auburn frames the rims only. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and fully struck. We do think this coin is also a near miss cameo. The eye appeal is sensational!
Only 800 coins were minted. PCGS 43, NGC 41, CAC 4. We have definitely seen PR65's not as nice!

G $1 1877 PCGS MS68
A STUNNING MONSTER!
Sold on
06/2010
WOW! If you ever wanted to see what a high end MS68 Gold Dollar should look like-this coin is it!
There are ZERO negatives. The surfaces are smooth, remarkably clean, and have an intense luster. There are also traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. Mind boggling colors of orange/deep white gold swirl on both sides. There are NO stains or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have amazing needle sharp strikes. This is unlike the majority of MS68's you have ever seen. The eye is totally phenomenal!
Only 3900 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 3, NGC 6.
The last one of these to sell in a major auction brought $16,100.00 FIVE YEARS AGO in a Heritage sale! We happen to know where the other 2 are, and neither is coming out in our lifetime (one is in our Simpson Collection of Gold Dollars). We are pleased to be able to offer our customers this exciting opportunity.

HIGH END!
Sold on

This is a real + in the new PCGS Secure Plus holder.
The only significant things you can find with a glass are a few frost breaks and a teenie tick. There are NO big marks so typical to this date. The surfaces are lustrous and shows off a pretty orange gold color. All of the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is that of a high end coin!

$1 1898 NGC PR64 CAMEO
KILLER APPEARANCE!
Sold on
06/2010
One of the neatest looking Proofs we have seen. We seriously question the grade as we can not find any real problems. If it were in a PR 65 Cameo holder we would not question it.
Both sides have ultra icy clear mirrors that have powerful reflectivity. They are also super clean. A moderate to deeper layer of ORIGINAL mauve/purple/golden brown/violet colors mixes dramatically all across both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have thick frost. The eye appeal is really bold.
Only 735 pieces were minted. PCGS 8, NGC 13, CAC 1.

$1 1891 PCGS MS64+ SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION
CRAZY CRESCENT RAINBOW COLORS!
Sold on
06/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. Rarely will you see any dates from the 1890's with full rainbow crescents.
The quality of this coin is also VERY high end. It is in the new Secure Plus holder and is designated a + (which means high end technically too). Both sides have super clean and satiny surfaces. Very few marks can be seen (we think this coin is just one small mark from MS65). Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck.
The toning is unlike anything we have ever seen on a 1891. Even the one that now resides in the Sunnywood/Simpson Collection is not rainbow toned. The obverse is covered by a partial crescent on the left 1/3. The colors are deep navy/violet/purple/blue/gold/green. The reverse has a crescent of neon like purple/violet/blue/pearl green/gold covering 50% of the surfaces. The colors look like what you'd see on an 80S. Color wise, this is an amazing coin. We grade the colors MS66! Opportunity knocks loud here if you are a picky colored Morgan buyer.

PLEASING QUALITY!
Sold on
06/2010
Definitely solid to slightly above average for the grade. These are NOT easy to find nice.
The fields are remarkably clean-actually, they are perfect! A strong luster also shows off a terrific light velvety texture. There is a teenie tick or two on the details. The color is a creamy white with a hint of gold. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. To be considered for a MS65, the eagle needs to be full-which on this coin it is not. The feathers are not flat either. Overall, the coin has excellent eye appeal.
PCGS 1630, NGC 1160, CAC 50. Keep in mind, a real MS65 would cost at least $25,000.00-if you can find one.
We are huge fans of MS64-65 Peace Dollar sets. They are completable and affordable. At today's levels building one and putting it away seems smart.
