G $1 1854 PCGS MS65
BEAUTIFUL!
Sold on
04/2010
This is a very pleasing rock solid MS65.
There are NO problems visible anywhere. The surfaces are very smooth and do not show a lot of die clashing (typical to this date). Both sides are a deeper orange gold color with a touch of toning on the lower obverse. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and have light frost. It always amazes us how these 156 year old coins can survive for so long in such a pristine condition. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 53, NGC 27, CAC 3. A perfect coin for ANY GEM Type set!

GORGEOUS ORIGINALITY!
Sold on
04/2010
Ok, so we finally found ONE Bust Half Dollar in GEM CAC. Its only taken us about a year. And when we did find one or two, they were in the 30's. of course this coin as worth the wait!
No question what so ever about its originality. Both sides are covered by a moderate mix of navy/purple that surrounds the stars and opens into a more russet/deep champagne like color. You can clearly see the surfaces are above average and are really clean. They do emit a surprisingly strong luster too. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is gorgeous!
PCGS 12, NGC 30, CAC 1. PCGS has graded 5 coins higher. CAC is extremely strict on stickering Bust coins. We doubt you will ever see a big % of the pop in GEM be stickered. Note: The current CDN BID is $10,000.00. Opportunity Knocks loud here!

$1 1879S PCGS MS64 SONNIER COLLECTION
OUT OF THIS WORLD BURLAP BAG COLOR!
Sold on
04/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). WOW, WOW, WOW! This coin clearly has MS68.5 color and has a technical grade of only MS64. We actually toyed with the idea of keeping it raw.
The colors are so wild we think this coin came from another planet! Deep textile toning is streaky and covers the entire obverse. the colors are rich navy/pearl green/violet/gold/royal blue. An intense luster makes the colors really pop. Only if you use a strong glass, can you see a few tiny ticks under the colors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The reverse is a full frosty MS65. You will be blown away by the colors!
this coin is unquestionably one of the BEST deals of the entire Sonnier Collection! We posted this coin at our BEST price!

$1 1921S PCGS MS64+ SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON
FABULOUSLY COLORED!
Sold on
04/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. The only other 1921S we have ever seen that is close to this color wise-the near twin thats now in the Sunnywood/Simpson Collection! We can not stress enough how rare this date is with true gorgeous color!
The obverse displays killer colors of blue/pale violet/golden brown. This is not an 80's S Mint color, but we do grade the colors MS67.5. Under a glass, you can see burlap bag dots. The reverse has some blue and mostly golden brown around the peripheries. A full booming luster makes the colors really stand out. The surfaces offer only a teenie tick or two (this is in the new PCGS Secure Plus holder) and do not take away from the coins high end quality. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is fabulous!
We doubt that if we were offered $25,000.00 we could ever find a similar coin. The feat of assembling the original Sunnywood Collection is highly unlikely to be repeatable!

$1 1881 PCGS MS65+ SUNNYWOOD/SIMSPON
AN KALIEDESCOPE OF MOTHER NATURES WONDERS!
Sold on
04/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. WOW, WOW, WOW! Mother nature really out did herself here! This is a semi rainblow multicolored 1881!
PCGS loves this monster too! They designated a + in their new Secure Plus holder. Regardless, the colors (for an 1881P) grade MS68. The obverse has circular bands of green/violet by the rims. They open into rich vibrant gold/pale blue centers. The reverse is just and explosion of the same swirling colors all over!
Quality wise, for this coin to be a +, that means PCGS rates it high end for the grade technically. Only a few teenie ticks can be detected when using a glass. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. Needless to say the eye appeal is tremedous!
