$1 1885O PCGS MS65 SONNIER COLLECTION
FIRE IN THE SKY!
Sold on
04/2010
SONNIER COLLECTION (not on holder). This is a vibrant, not electric ORIGINAL BURLAP BAG TEXTILE TONED GEM!
We named it "Fire in the Sky" because it looks like a glowing ball of fire in the evening. The left side of the obverse is primarily red/violet and blends into bright amber/gold on the right. The textile dots actually are a pale blue/green. We grade the colors MS67.3. A full booming cartwheel luster shows off the colors and also the cleanliness of the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is like a flaming ball of fire! Take our word on this, Bryan Sonnier did not pick any average colored coins for his collection.

$1 1903 PCGS MS65PL
NEARLY FULL DMPL!
Sold on
04/2010
A VERY interesting piece. We have seen a few NGC DMPL's that were not as deep as this GEM. It is VERY close to full DMPL status.
Both sides exhibit mirrors that are clean overall (just a few trivial ticks ob the lower left obverse), deep (at least 4+ inches, have a watery look, and offer powerful reflectivity. Some light reddish gold toning hugs the peripheries. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. The eye appeal is very neat.
PCGS 29, NGC 31, CAC 2. In full GEM DMPL this date and grade would worth $25,000.00+-if you could find one!

$1 1900O PCGS MS66PL DCT COLLECTION
NICE REFLECTIVITY!
Sold on
04/2010
From the DCT Collection-the #1 DMPL/PL Collection of Morgans.
Finding any 1900 O with any kind of mirrors is really rare. Both sides offer excellent clarity, depth, cleanliness, and strong reflectivity. Just a few trivial ticks are scattered about. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The color is a silvery white. The eye appeal is flashy and pretty!
PCGS 23, NGC 15, CAC 1. PCGS has graded NONE higher. The last time one appeared in major auction auction it sold for $2,128.00 04/2010 Heritage. We obtained this coin from a private collector.

A SHIMMERING ORANGE GOLD GEM!
Sold on
04/2010
We are pleased to offer another very pretty GEM Saint. With gold starting to inch up, now may be an excellent time to buy a piece or two (before gold really runs).
Light two tone colors are enlivened by a full booming luster. There are NO spots or discolorations of any kind. The surfaces are clean and only reveal light frost breaks. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is great.
This coin is housed in an older green tag holder.

$1 1884S PCGS MS62+ SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION
ULTRA HIGH END+LOVELY TONED!
Sold on
04/2010
SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. Even if this wasn't from the #1 colored set of Morgans, it would still be labeled a spectacular and Ultra High End coin. This was one of the toughest coins to find with any color. Its DOES indeed look better than several MS63's we have seen.
Yes, this IS housed in the new PCGS Secure Plus holder. It is designated a full +. We totally agree. The quality is virtually MS63. We really can not find a single reason as to why its only an MS62+. The surfaces are super smooth, appear perfectly clean, and lustrous. Bold prooflike mirrors cover the reverse while the obverse is lightly semi-prooflike. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and full strikes. Also, her cheek is rounded and is perfectly clean.
The colors are a moderate but vibrant golden brown/pale purple and are extremely pretty (this is NOT a dull or drab coin). We rank the colors MS66 (which for a non S Mint is really strong). The eye appeal of this coin is spectacular!
PCGS 87, NGC 109, CAC 3. The pickiest buyer in the world WILL love this amazing coin. You will NEVER see a better MS62. In the good old days, we could show this coin to a "crackout" dealer and sell it immediately for a substantial premium.
The last one to sell in a major auction was in 2009 and that coin sold for $20,700.00. This coin was purchased out of a Goldberg sale in 02/2006 for $21,850.00 specifically for inclusion in this set. Its been with Sunnywood since then. Opportunity knocks loud here!
