A COLORFUL SOLID GEM!
Sold on
05/2010
We can not believe how cheap these have become. Its a crime!
Deep and glassy mirrors are clean and have strong reflectivity. An even moderate layer of purple/pewter/blue/fiery reddish gold all intermingle across both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and have generous thick creamy frosting. The eye appeal is beautiful!
Only 846 were ever minted. PCGS 20, NGC 29, CAC 1.
In our opinion, in PR65, these have become way too cheap!

This is R-7 (7-12 pieces minted.
Calling this GEM a MONSTER is not hype at all. This coin is unbelievable. It is amazing it has survived 140 years in such pristine condition!
You can see the mirrors glitter from across the room. There are NO impairments visible. Only under a strong glass can you see some planchet imperfections and a tiny lint mark. The color is a crisp GEM ORIGINAL Mint Red. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and every single detail is fully struck. The eye appeal will knock you out!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1.
This coin last sold in a major sale for $8,050.00 1/2009 Heritage. The latest Judd book (the 10th addition) lists this coin at $7,000.00 for a PR65.
Too bad this design was not adopted for the 3CS-it is beautiful. The reverse is similar. Opportunity knocks loud for a Pattern or a 3CS collector,

SATINY AND NICE!
Sold on

We certainly do not see many of these with CAC stickers. Of course when a nice like this appears, we buy it!
We marvel at the superior cleanliness of the surfaces. They have a satiny texture which beams a strong luster in a cartwheel effect. There are NO spots or discolorations. The overall color is an even pale orange gold. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is great!

$2.5 1805 PCGS AU58+
BETTER THAN SOME MS61'S!
Sold on
05/2010
Legend Numismatics is pleased to own and offer this truly magnificent and rare $2.5 gold piece. Rarely will you find any early gold that's truly HIGH END or hasn't been messed with. This coin is clearly HIGH END and and is totally original. Yes, it is in a PCGS Secure Plus holder.
To start, without using a glass, this coin looks incredibly clean. Even with a glass, the worst things you find are a few lines and a teenie tick or two. Both sides not only have a strong luster, but have traces of prooflike mirrors. There are no discolorations or spots. The color is a heart pounding ORIGINAL deep orange. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and show only a few light adjustment marks on the reverse. The eye appeal is incredible! We just can not stress enough how rare it is to find one of these not messed with.
ONLY 1791 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 13, NGC 13, CAC 6.
Even an NGC coin sold for $29,900.00 at the 7/2008 Heritage sale. A NGC MS61 last sold at auction in 2008 and went for $40,250.00. The value of a coin like this totally depends on the coin itself. And since this coin has nothing artificial, the quality is VERY high end, and it is just gorgeous, the coin is worth a strong premium.
