50C 1901S PCGS MS65
  A SPECACULAR SEMI-PROOFLIKE PIECE!
Sold on 09/2011
When we fall in love with a coin and then see it for sale later, we always buy it. This is a coin we placed with an institution that had recently been sold via auction. We never see 1901S 50C looking like this!

You do not have to be a barber enthusiast to admire this GEM. Both sides are prooflike. There are a few teenie ticks and frost breaks, but none are big or really stand out to the naked eye. A gorgeous mix of gold/pale champagne/blue/pale violet colors swirl nicely over both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have excellent strikes. There are some adjustment marks across her face-but they do not detract and you need a glass to see them (they are Mint made). The eye appeal of this coin gains our highest ranking: 9++!!!

PCGS 5, NGC 3, CAC 3. The only other 1901S to appear at auction this year was an non CAC NGC MS65 which sold for $13,800.00 1/2011 Stacks. No matter how picky you are, you WILL love this totally ORIGINAL GEM! And one day in the future we hope to own this coin yet again!

WE HAVE POSTED THIS COIN AT OUR BEST PRICE!

  VERY CHOICE!
Sold on 09/2011
Take our word on this, finding specimens not hacked up is not easy. This coin has just a few teenie ticks that keep it from MS65. It is VERY high end!

Only some very teenie ticks in the left obverse keep this coin from full MS65 quality. The ticks are tiny, light, and do NOT distract you. Overall, the surfaces are clean. A decent luster also shows off totally ORIGINAL gold/orange gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is excellent!

PCGS 211, NGC 695, CAC 11 (ALL). PCGS has graded 6 coins 64+. In MS65, they have only graded 2 (one is in the Simpson/Hall Collection). Opportunity knocks loud here!

  OUTRAGEOUS QUALITY AND EYE APPEAL!
Sold on 09/2011
You can see this GEM'S fire from yards away! It has sensational smooth and semi prooflike surfaces. A full booming luster shows off a heart pounding ORIGINAL mix of orange/yellow gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have razor sharp strikes. The eye appeal is outrageous!

PCGS 5, NGC 3, CAC 2 (ALL). This is the ONLY MS67 PCGS has graded. PCGS has graded 2 MS68's (one is in the finest MS Gold Dollar set we are building). A PCGS/CAC MS67 sold for $18,400.00 in the 08/2011 Heritage sale. NO MS68's have sold at auction. Opportunity knocks loud for any serious Gold Dollar collector!

  ULTRA HIGH END!
Sold on 09/2011
Many people ask us if the + grades really mean anything. To us, when the coin is a legit 64.8 or 9 it does and we try hard to buy them. This coin is a PR64.8!

Only with a strong glass can you detect some light and scattered lines. The mirrors are incredibly deep, have amazing clarity, have NO visible imperfections, and are highly reflective. A wonderful mix of golden brown/deep gold covers most of the surfaces. The colors are far from dull and are really eye catching. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have pale light silvery frost. The eye appeal is magnificent!

ONLY 912 pieces ere ever minted. PCGS 16, NGC 9, CAC 4 (ALL). This is the ONLY PR64+ Cam PCGS has graded. It has not been in auction. However a regular PR64 PCGS/CAC Cameo sold for $4,313.00 07/10 Heritage, while a non CAC NGC coin sold for $4,600.00 05/07 Heritage. PR 65's sell for at least $6,000.00. We have priced this coin super fair considering its outstanding quality-we have seen many PR65's that do not look anywhere near as nice!

  REMARKABLE!
Sold on 09/2011
SUPER HIGH END! Even we submitted it seeking a +. yet again, PCGS baffled us!

Extraordinary glassy mirrors are super clean, have terrific clarity, are deep, and have strong reflectivity. A wonderful kaleidoscope of colors that include: green/blue/pale violet/gold swirls all over the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have gentle frost. The eye appeal is great!

ONLY 731 were minted. PCGS 15, NGC 15, CAC 3. A PCGS/CAC coin sold for $4,370.00 04/11 Heritage.

  SUPER NEAT!
Sold on 09/2011
When we can find these unmolested and not hacked up, we will buy them. This coin is wonderfully ORIGINAL has few marks!

To start, the strike on this heavy beast is fabulous. You do not need a glass to see some of the eagles feathers. While there is wear, its not harsh or in your face. The surfaces have very few ticks and do look clean and even have a slight semi prooflike hint. The color is a totally ORIGINAL deep orange gold. We also LOVE the reverse, it has NO obstructions in the design. Also, all the corners and rims are fine-there is only one very teenie bump and that is it. Clearly, this coin is way above average. It also has awesome eye appeal!

PCGS 6, NGC 12, CAC 2. The last one of these to appear in major public auction was now 3 years ago in 11/08 at Stacks. That coin was a NON CAC and sold for $51,750.00. Prior to that in 2006 one sold for $63,250.00. These do not make many appearances in auction. It has always been our strong opinion these should all be worth $100,000.00 when they look this neat and are devoid of serious problems. Check it out!

  PHENEOMENAL!
Sold on 09/2011
PHENOMENAL everything!

One of this coins neater qualities is it it prooflike. Both sides are super clean and have decent mirrors. A strong luster also shines. There are NO marks anywhere. A faint hint of gold can be detected if you tilt the coin-otherwise it looks cameoed and silvery white. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have full strikes. Its interesting to note the D in Dime on the reverse is double struck. The eye appeal is like the coins quality-PHENOMENAL!

PCGS 8, NGC 8, CAC 2. We hardly ever see these early dimes with exceptional quality like this. PCGS has graded NONE higher, while NGC has 3.

  ULTRA HIGH END!
Sold on 09/2011
Bought this coin (and the 83+84CC's) from one of the sharpest long time Morgan Collectors we know. His eye knows quality!

Outrageously clean and satiny like surfaces adorn both sides. The color is a phenomenal snowy white. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is a total WOW!

PCGS 30, NGC 25, CAC 116 (all). The last one to sell in major auction brought $1,725.00. It was NOT this coin. If this coin with its outrageous quality was in auction, it would have sold for more!

  AN OUTRAGEOUS SNOWY WHITE GEM!
Sold on 09/2011
We had a dream, and then this coin appeared! It could not be anymore of what we wanted-WOW!

Super velvety surfaces for the most part are amazingly clean. Only in the dreaded right field is there a super teenie tick. The luster is intense and the color is a bold snowy white w/a faint hint of gold on the reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are are frosty and have strong strikes. The eye appeal is beautiful!

88, NGC 52, CAC 9 (w/only ONE coin stickered higher). Prior to this coin, the auction records were: $6,325.00 02/2011, $7475.00 1/05 Heritage. This coin is worthy of being included in the FINEST sets.

  DEEPLY MIRRORED!
Sold on 09/2011
SUPERB! We generally do NOT find many PR 5C from the 1890's that actually are very nice. This coin is nice plus!

Deep and glittering mirrors are clean, sleek, clear, and of course highly reflective. Some very ORIGINAL light gold/pale nickel blue colors cover both sides. There are NO spots or problems. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and have generous frost. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 8, NGC 7, CAC 5. Prior to this coin selling in the Heritage PRE ANA Sale, the last 1897 5C to sell was a NON CAC PCGS piece that brought $3,738.00 1/10 Heritage. We think most pre 1900 PR67 Cameo 5C are UNDERvalued!
