J-1392 20C 1875 PCGS PR65 ELIASBERG-SIMPSON
THE ULTIMATE SAILOR HEAD 20C PIECE!
Sold on
06/2011
This is a R-6 (13-30 minted). It is the Sailor Head design by William Barber struck in silver.
Besides having the ultimate pattern pedigree (Eliasberg-Simpson) this is also the Judd book plate coin.
Both sides shimmer with deep mirrors that offer exceptional clarity, cleanliness, depth, and reflectivity. An uneven but VERY pretty color scheme of deeper blue/purple/pale violet/golden brown colors swirl over all of the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is exceptional!
PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 1. This coin last sold in 08/2010 Heritage as a duplicate from the Simpson Collection. It realized $7,475.00. The Judd Book values a PR65 at $9,500.00. A regular CAC PCGS PR65 1875 20C would sell 10% less then this coin (and those have 2000+ minted). We KNOW this pattern represents good value!

$5 1911 PCGS MS65+
A BORDERLINE MS66!
Sold on
06/2011
This is definitely a VERY HIGH END GEM! No question its fresh and completely ORIGINAL! Also, if we did not think it was a real + quality piece, we would not have bought it!
First thing you see are the unmessed with surfaces. There are practically NO marks-even when you use a strong glass. Rare have we seen the upper right of the reverse this nice on a 1911. This coin definitely has ORIGINAL "skin". It is NOT a dirty or dipped coin. A strong luster shows off the beautiful deep yellow/orange colored surfaces. Every detail is frosty and has an extra sharp strike. The eye appeal is fantastic!
PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 14 (for all MS65's-which total 100 pieces). There are NO auction records. Collectors Universe values suggests $22,000.00. The last REGULAR MS65 CAC sold for $14,950.00 in the Heritage 2011 FUN sale. This coin is clearly better and does deserve its premium. Also, next step up is pop 1. That coin would cost you at least $75,000.00-maybe even six figures. Opportunity knocks loud here!

Prooflike and SUPERB!
Fully prooflike mirrors are super clean, flashy, and emit a strong luster. A slightly mottled mix of golden brown/blue colors swirl around both sides. The coin looks more white than toned. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 23, NGC 45, CAC 6. Not an easy date to find this nice.

STUNNING!
Sold on
06/2011
This superior coin actually has light PROOFLIKE tendencies! It is definitely not your typical MS67 Saint!
We couldn't take our eyes off this GEM. This is the 3rd really nice one we have had in 90 days that was truly SUPERB (one was all time best). Both sides explode with luster. There are practically NO marks or problems to be found anywhere. A few VERY light STAINS (NOT spots or problems) are scattered about. These only PROVE the coins ORIGINALITY. The colors are a gorgeous yellow/orange gold mix. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have sharp strike. If you do not like this coin, then you will NEVER buy a MS67 Saint! It has knockout eye appeal!
PCGS 77, NGC 160, CAC 21. We have a sightUNSEEN BID of $12,500.00 for ANY (non 1908) PCGS MS67 CAC Saint. We had to pay more than that to buy this GEM! You know we will work as close as we. This is a coin the pickiest Saint buyer MUST check out!

H.01 1793 PCGS MS61BN
SUPER HIGH END!
Sold on
06/2011
Legend Numismatics is pleased to own and offer one of the rarest and undervalued coins in existence-a real MS 1793 HALF CENT!
We thought this coin was so high end, we even resubmitted it (not cracked) seeking an MS62. Struck and a surprisingly problem free planchet, this coin has smooth surfaces that are devoid of pitting or other typical issues. The luster is light and shows off the pretty even chocolate brown color. Miss Liberty and the details are rub free and have excellent strong strikes. The eye appeal is that of a much better coin.
PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. PCGS has about 10 graded higher (just about all of these are in major collections). CAC has stickered NONE higher. This coin has two recent auction histories: last it realized $117,875.00 04/2011, and prior $126,500.00 1/2009. We bought the coin again because we love it and are determined to place it in a great home.

OUTRAGEOUS!
Sold on
06/2011
One teenie toning dot from being an AMAZING MS67! This coin almost defies description!
Save for one teenie toning dot, this coin could be an MS67! Nearly electrified surfaces have killer deeper chocolate/pale hints of Mint Red color. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is incredible!
PCGS 37, NGC 71, CAC 5. Except for possibly another Naftzger coin, this piece has virtually NO equals! Formerly lot 1118 where it realized $1,495.00. Remember, this is this coins FIRST appearance on the market since the auction (where we believe it sold too cheap). Even a NON CAC sold for $1,955.00 1/11 Goldberg. Opportunity knocks loud here!

A FULLY CAMEOED MONSTER!
Sold on
06/2011
What an amazing beast! We are madly in love with this SUPER GEM! Be glad we do not collect MS Barbers!
Remember, this is a Mint Sate coin! Both sides are FULLY CAMEOED! At first we thought it was a Proof. the mirrors are really 4"+ deep, have amazing clarity, have virtually NO marks or lines, and of course are wildly reflective. The luster really shows off the gorgeous creamy white color. Miss Liberty and the details are heavily frosted and have sharp strikes. This is an AMAZING MONSTER GEM! Your eyes will pop out like ours did when we first saw it. An FYI: there is no question it is an MS coin.
PCGS 22, NGC 21, CAC 9. We bought this coin out of the Heritage CSNS Sale for $6,325.00-and happily would have paid more! We are pricing this GEM at a VERY fair price!

5C 1877 PCGS PR66+ CAMEO
A MINDBLOWING CAMEO!
Sold on
06/2011
We should name this coin Miss Snowy! WOW, what contrast! Obviously the + machine was working the day this coin was sent in for grading and not the 67 button. We love this SUPERB GEM and grade it a 66.9!
ALL the lines, ticks, and marks are on the holder, NOT the coin! Using a powerful glass we found NO problems. The mirrors are fresh, icy, deep, have tremendous clarity, and of course emit powerful reflectivity. Every detail is needle sharp in strike and has strong snowy white frost. The eye appeal is stunning!
Only 510 pieces were minted of this PROOF ONLY date. PCGS 25/1, NGC 65/2, CAC 8 (ALL). PR 66's sell for around $6,000.00, and the last NON CAC PR67 sold in auction in 2008 (heritage) for $19,550.00. We feel this coin is priced exceptionally fair. A coin well worthy of inclusion of the finest set!

$1 1864 PCGS MS65
EXTRAORDINARILY GEMMY!
Sold on
06/2011
We can not stress enough how incredibly RARE ALL MS65 Seated Dollars really are. We should know, we have built the #1+#2 all time FINEST MS Sets. We do know what does and does not exist. And VERY LITTLE exists in MS65 PCGS/CAC!
Phenomenal slightly semi-prooflilke surfaces are loaded with a full booming luster. Hits, lines, and impairments are virtually non existent. the color is a creamy white with a hint of pale gold. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have full strikes. The eye appeal is tremendous!
PCGS 6, NGC 8, CAC 6. In 01/2009 a PCGS MS65/CAC example sold in a Heritage sale for $51,750.00. This is NOT the same coin. We do rank this coin as slight nicer and certainly slight cleaner. Regardless, these are grossly UNDER valued and are rare as can be!

2C 1873 OPEN 3 PCGS PR65RD
A REMARKABLE GEM!
Sold on
06/2011
EX TROY WISEMAN. This coin is a stunning proof 65RD for date that comes not so nice most of the time! WOW!
First you are greeted by remarkably strong mirrors. They are super clean (there are some very teenie flecks on the reverse-do not let the image spook you), have incredible clarity, and of course really have powerful reflectivity. The color is a heart pounding ORIGINAL Mint Red with hints of gold and some violet toning. This coin is NOT turning. Every detail is fully struck and has light frosting. For an Open 3 PR65RD, the eye appeal is jaw dropping!
This is a Proof ONLY date with LESS than 500 pieces minted. PCGS 4, NGC 6, CAC 2. A non CAC PCGS coin last was auction for $5,463.00 08/09 Heritage, while an NGC coin went for $6,900.00 in 2008. There are 5 graded PR66RD w/one CAC'd. One of those sold for $35,938.00 1/2010 Heritage. Regardless, this is a true GEM example of an extremely rare coin. Its a "must buy" for anyone building a GEM PR 2C collection.
