1C 1892 PCGS PR65RB
  A REALL NICE GEM!
Sold on 08/2012
We LOVE the fact this is a REAL GEM PR from 1892 that costs LESS than $1,000.00. It just sounds like a great value! The quality is VERY high end!

Both sides have REAL deep, crystal clear, super clean, and highly reflective mirrors. A few microscopic TONING dots can be detected only with a strong glass. The colors are rich ORIGINAL Mint Red/copper/gold mix. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. The eye appeal is beautiful!

PCGS 62, NGC 66, CAC 10. The last coin to sell in major auction was a NON CAC which brought $632.00 04/2012 Heritage. These seem like such great values-we DO recommend building a PR65RB set!

A classic $3 gold rarity-ONLY 1140 were ever minted. Just think about the time this coin was minted. WOW!

Both sides show numerous TEENIE ticks scattered about (and a few light lines). There are strong traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. A strong luster also shows off a pretty deeper gold color. There are No spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck, The wear is VERY light. This is a very handsome looking coin!

PCGS 11, NGC 9, CAC 3. Since 2007 there have only been 3 appearances of PCGS AU55 pieces. The prices realized ranged from $9,000.00-$10,000.00. Opportunity knocks loud here!

$2.5 1898 PCGS MS67
  THE EPITOMY OF PERFECTION!
Sold on 08/2012
What an amazing GEM! You can look until your eyes burn a hole in your glass, this coin has NO impairments anywhere! We never see dates in the 90's like this.

Remarkable surfaces are "as struck" and show of nothing but perfection. They are satiny smooth and emit a substantial luster. The color is a totally ORIGINAL deeper yellow gold. There are NO discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have pinpoint sharp strikes. The eye appeal is super!

PCGS 7, NGC 34, CAC 6. Here is a mindblowing fact: There have been NO 1898 PCGS MS67 pieces in any major auctions since 06/1999 Superior (you've had just about every major classic rarity sell 2x during that time). That coin realized $5,500.00 back then! This coin should easily be worth $10,000.00++. We can't stress any harder what a great 'put away" coin this is.

10C 1895 PCGS PR64 CAMEO
  LOOKS LIKE A PR65 CAMEO!
Sold on 08/2012
WOW! Only a well HIDDEN line or two from PR65 Cameo. We certainly have seen worse in PR65 holders!

Crisp, clear, clean, and highly reflective mirrors cover all the surfaces. There are more marks on the holder then the coin! You do need a powerful glass to find the few scattered lines. The toning is totally ORIGINAL. Semi neon shades of blue/russet/deep golden brown open into untoned centers. Miss Liberty and the details are super thick frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is great!

ONLY 880 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 15, NGC 10, CAC 5. Hard to believe but the last PCGS PR64 Cameo sold in auction was back in 2004. That coin sold for $1,121.00 Stacks. Opportunity knocks loud here!

10C 1897 PCGS PR66 CAMEO
  MODERATE COLOR!
Sold on 08/2012
We are highly bullish on ALL PR Barber coins graded 64 and higher. They have finite mintage and are NOT as common as you might think. This is a nice coin we have to offer!

Flashy mirrors have no problem anywhere. The toning is light to moderate and is slightly irregular. The color scheme is a totally ORIGINAL reddish gold/pale purple. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and have strong frost. The eye appeal is excellent!

ONLY 731 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 19, NGC 16, CAC 8. The last one to sell in major auction brought $1,840.00 7/11 Heritage-a year ago! Opportunity does knock VERY loud here!

  VERY CHOICE!
Sold on 08/2012
Flashy PR 20C pieces like this are very cool.

This coin is very deeply mirrored. There are a few minor lines, nothing major. The mirrors are deep, clear, and have powerful reflectivity. A slight hint of gold can be detected-but the coin looks silvery white. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have strong frost. The eye appeal is excellent.

PCGS 27, NGC 18, CAC 5. NO PCGS/CAC coins have ever been to auction. The last NON CAC piece to sell brought $4,715.00 3/12 Heritage. This is a very completable short series to collect. Opportunity knocks loud here!

10C 1883 HAWAIIN PCGS PR66 EX FORSYTHE
  SUPERB IN EVERY RESPECT!
Sold on 08/2012
WOW, what a coin! This totally SUPERB ORIGINAL GEM is Ex Forsythe Collection. It is the HI equivalent of a 1894S 10C. This is the first we have ever seen or handled one of these!

Medcalf-Russell 2CS-1. We are going to use the catalog description from the Forsythe sale as it is as fully educational as can be: Nicely toned on both sides with delicate shades of original color which include warm golds to amber deep trending into red, along with subtle antique grays blending effortlessly across the surface into iridescent silvery and blue. (The companion Proof 66 to this dime in the accompanying Lot has toning at the edge but not suffused throughout the field on either side like this specimen.)

An apt term for the surface would be "resplendent fields," since the fields below the toning are as smooth, level to perfection, and gleaming with reflectivity as when first struck. Probably a good many Hawaiian coins are no longer as carefully preserved as this magnificent Proof piece, with no suggestion or even a whisper of weakness at the King's side burn, hair curls, or mutton-chop beard. Even under strong magnification, the detail delights the connoisseur's eye.

The Hawaiian Dime, unlike its larger cousins, skips the royal emblem on the reverse and is instead modeled along the lines of the U.S. Seated Liberty dimes of the day, with an open wreath in which is placed the denomination. A small royal crown above. The national motto which surrounds was adopted in the 1840s for the Kingdom of Hawaii and carried over into the 20th Century as the official Hawaii State motto when Hawaii became the 50th State in the Union in 1959.

Proofs were struck at the Philadelphia Mint along with the other 1883 Kalakaua Proof coinage, from dies made under the stewardship of Charles E. Barber, chief engraver of the Mint. These, like the quarter dollar, half dollar, and silver dollar use the standard weight and fineness of American coins. U.S. coins were legal tender in the Hawaiian Islands from an early period. An impressive rarity in the Hawaiian series. This splendid coin is one of only 26 Proofs struck. More to the point, the dime is the second rarest of all Hawaiian Proof denominations as a business strike and the present example ranks at the top among the few Proof examples available to collectors in the 21st century. It is significant that this is tied with two others as finest certified PCGS and that PCGS has assigned no grade higher than Proof-66.

These was another 10C with wild colors offered at the auction-that sold to a dealer for his personal collection for $34,500.00. In years to come, the prices realized at the Forsythe sale will be cheap. This certainly is one denomination in PROOF we NEVER EVER see! Opportunity can't know any louder here!
