H.01 1833 PCGS PR64BN
ONLY 30 PIECES WERE EVER MINTED!
Sold on 08/2009
Legend Numismatics is pleased to own and offer this terrific totally original, genuine proof specimen from 1833. The mintage is a mere 30 pieces-which is almost as rare as a classic rarity (like a 94S 10C-24 minted) .

No question this coin is totally original and not messed with in any way. It also shows that way back then, when the US Mint wanted to make real mirrored proofs, it did (not just specimens). The mirrors are clean and flashy. A bold coating of deep (but not dark) chocolate/navy/golden brown colors swirl together on both sides. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and do stand out. The eye appeal is beautiful!

We can not stress enough what a great rarity this is. ONLY 30 pieces were ever minted. you certainly do NOT see them in many auctions or at shows. PCGS 5, NGC 6 PCGS has graded NONE higher in BN). The last one of these to appear in public auction sold for $7,475.00 Heritage 11/05-that's FOUR years ago!!!!! In our opinion, these aren't just a deal, they are a steal! Just think of all the coins out there with higher mintages that sell for more in the same grade (like a 16D PCGS MS64FB that sold for $20,700.00 in 04/09).

You can't ask for a better numismatic treasure for UNDER $10,000.00!

3CS 1855 PCGS PR65
  SUPER HIGH END!
Sold on 08/2009
Here is a date and grade you NEVER see offered! We are pleased to be able to re offer this exquisite piece to the collecting public.

The quality is clearly SUPER high end. The only reason it is not a PR66-PCGS probably felt it was a bit dark. Both sides have glittering deep, clear, clean, and flashy mirrors. An original medium to dark mix of brown/navy/pale rose colors covers all the surfaces. This coin is NOT black or dull. Every detail is razor sharp in strike and has light frost. The eye appeal actually is pleasing!

It is estimated LESS than 50 pieces were minted. PCGS 3, NGC 8. Only 2 coins are graded higher (one of which is in our all time finest PR 3CS set). The last time one of these appeared in auction was almost 4 years ago. That coin sold for $8,510.00 02/05 Heritage. We can't remember seeing even a PR64 (pop 5) for sale any time recently.

This coin does not image well. In person it does appear flashy and vibrant.

$3 1867 NGC AU55
  ORIGINAL APPEARANCE!
Sold on 08/2009
Only 2000 pieces were ever minted.

This is a totally original piece. It actually has that toned lightly "dirty" look. You know it has NOT been dipped or messed with. There are NO problems visible. The color is a deep gold with hints of orange and violet. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. The eye appeal is very pleasing.

PCGS 21, NGC 23. The last one to appear in major auction sold for $3,220.00 03/07 B+M. A PCGS AU55 brought $3,680.00 1/08 Stacks. This is not an auction, so we can sell this reasonable.

$1 1879S PCGS MS67
  SEMI-PROOFLIKE!
Sold on 08/2009
McCLAREN COLLECTION. Super and flashy-the way you want an MS67 Morgan to be!

Both sides are sleek, super clean, and have both traces of semi-prooflike mirrors and full booming luster. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full crisp strikes. Her cheek is clean and rounded. Most important, this is NOT an MS66 in a 67 holder or a coin that was messed with! The eye appeal is fabulous.

The last CAC stickered 1879S PCGS MS67 we could find in a major auction sold for $862.50 2/09 Heritage. This is NOT a recently graded coin! Also, don't these just seem way too cheap?

5C 1915 PCGS PR66
  SUPERB IN EVERY RESPECT!
Sold on 08/2009
There is no question this piece just sat some where totally undisturbed for several years. It has never been dipped or messed with. Both sides have a moderate deeper nickel/pewter type of toning that is NOT dull. Some hints of gold can be seen. The surfaces are of Matte texture and have zero impairments. All of the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and appear boldly. This coin is a perfect example of a totally original Matte Proof Buffalo. The eye appeal is VERY pleasing.

1C 1909SVDB PCGS MS66RB
A HEAVY DOSE OF MINT RD!
Sold on 08/2009
The 1909S VDB is unquestionably one of the most famous and sought after coins in the world. We always buy them when they are a true MS66 RB or RD.

Both sides are remarkably clean and smooth (not even a teenie tick can be detected). A full booming luster highlights a mellow mix of about 60% Original Mint RD color with light golden brown. There are two small toning dots, otherwise there are NO spots. Lincoln and all of the details are exceptionally struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is wonderful!

5C 1912 PCGS MS66
  PRISTINE!
Sold on 08/2009
HAL COLLECTION. Much better than the average dull and crusty 1912!

Both sides are virtually perfect. Only a teenie MINT MADE planchet chip can be seen using a strong glass. The surfaces are smooth and also have a very strong luster. A light totally original mix of pale gold/pewter colors dart about both sides. Most important: Miss Liberty, the corn (on the reverse), and all of the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is terrific

To a degree, MS Liberty Nickels have been a casualty of gradeflation. We believe their real number of pieces that will ever CAC are substantially less than the pops indicate. PCGS 24, NGC 10. these certainly seem too cheap. The prices realized at auction for 2009 range from $1,265.00 to an NGC coin selling for $1,955.00.

  PHENOMENAL COLORS!
Sold on 08/2009
Can not see any real reason why this stunning SUPERB GEM was not graded a PR66.

Super deep, crystal clear, clean, and highly reflective mirrors cover both sides. A gorgeous swirling mix of blue/violet/purple/tangerine/olive/gold colors beam from the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is tremendous!

Only 727 pieces were minted. PCGS 37, NGC 34.

3CS 1865 PCGS MS66
  PHENOMENAL QUALITY+COLORS!
Sold on 08/2009
Even the worlds pickiest 3CS collector will fall forever in love with this killer piece. Just 8000 were ever minted during the Civil War.

Mind boggling original colors of electric blue/violet/purple visually make bold impact to your eyes at first sight. An intense luster makes the colors even more pronounced. The surfaces are amazingly clean. Under a strong glass you can see die polishing lines (which are as made) and some neat die clash marks (also as made). Every detail is remarkably razor sharp to the point they seem to have wire edges. The eye appeal can be is really shockingly wild!

Having built the finest EVER MS 3CS set (see the Law Collection in the PCGS registry) we know how these should come-when you can find them. This coin is definitely not typical and does indeed border on MS67.

PCGS 4, NGC 14. PCGS has graded only 3 coins higher-with the lone MS68 in our collection.

3CS 1872 PCGS MS64
  VERY CHOICE!
Sold on 08/2009
Outside of the PCGS MS67 we placed in the #1 ALL TIME registry set we built (see the Law Collection), we have only owned (or handled) one other 1872 MS piece-and that was an MS64 as well. That was back in 2006! We just bought this coin from a major dealers personal collection.

No question this piece is an MS. The surfaces are semi-prooflike and show die polishing marks (Mint made) only when viewed with a strong glass. The luster is exceptionally strong. Some very faint gold covers both sides. All of the details are sharply struck and have thick white frost. The eye appeal is tremendous!

The great rarity of this date in ANY MS63 and higher grade is undisputed. ONLY 1000 were ever minted. PCGS 6, NGC 13. PCGS has graded only 6 coins higher (we have the lone MS67 in our all time finest set). The last MS64 to appear at auction sold for $6,900.00 05/07 Heritage. We are pleased to own and present 3CS collectors with this tremendous opportunity.

A quickie education about pricing. The CDN sheet "bid" price shows $1,800.00. We would happily buy the other 5 PCGS coins for that sightUNSEEN (if you have them just ship at that price-we'll take dreck at that price). How they can even think of posting that price is insane. Even the NGC MS64's have sold in the mid $3,000.00 range with NONE having sold after 2007. So of course, coins like these are going to trade for way over any published price. This bolsters our argument that coins like this should not have ANY prices even posted (since the last one known to have traded was back in 2007)! If you are building a choice or GEM set, do NOT miss this seldom seen opportunity.
