$1 1888O PCGS MS66
  GREAT BALLS OF LUSTER!
Sold on 02/2012
For an O Mint, this coin is on fire! It has nearly blinding full booming luster. There are just a few VERY teenie and trivial ticks/lines scattered about. The coin could use a new holder, but why give up an old green tag. The surfaces do have slight traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. her cheek will please the pickiest "old time" collector who demands perfection. This looks more like a P Mint than a O Mint. The eye appeal is terrific!

PCGS 200, NGC 39, CAC 25. After 25+ years of operations, PCGS has graded NONE higher. The last PCGS/CAC piece to sell at auction brought $2,530.00 09/2011 Heritage. Opportunity knocks loud here!

  SUPERB!
Sold on 02/2012
Love this SUPERB GEM!

The mirrors are deep, clean, and have powerful reflectivity. A very light hint of tissue paper toning can be detected. The coin does look glassy and is NOT dull. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is very nice!

PCGS 170, NGC 220, CAC 27. The last two PCGS/CAC coins that sold in auction brought: $2,530.00 12/11 Heritage and $2,070.00 08/11 Heritage. Fortunately, we bought this coin right and are NOT an auction!

  SUPER GLASSY MIRRORS!
Sold on 02/2012
We like the + when used correctly. In this case, the + is correct! This is a VERY highend GEM!

Only a few INVISIBLE small lines scattered about keep this coin from grading a full PR65. The mirrors are super clean, deep, crystal clear, and have powerful reflectivity. They look like a fresh sheet of glass. There is NO toning anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have light frost. The eye appeal is really super!

ONLY 755 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 56, NGC 55, CAC 2 (ALL pops are for regular PR 64). This is the ONLY + at either PCGS or NGC).

50C 1865 PCGS MS66
  AN EXTRAORDINARY COIN!
Sold on 02/2012
We consider this coin to be totally remarkable! It unquestionably ranks among the FINEST known. The quality is slightly better than the other PCGS MS66 (and that coin is no slouch). For us, this coin was love at first sight!

Smooth and satiny surfaces are clean overall. There is only one small tick hidden in the right field (which is the only thing to keep this coin from MS67 or 66+). A surprisingly strong full booming luster shows off the surfaces and colors. Both sides start with a band of electric royal blue then blend into a lilac/lavender/tangerine centers. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have extra strong crisp frost. The eye appeal is totally jaw dropping and sensational! Mother nature did an incredible job here. Everything is totally ORIGINAL and this piece has NEVER been messed with.

PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 3. The other CAC coin sold for $19,550.00 in 11/10 B+M sale. That was just too cheap. This piece is also in an old green tag holder. PCGS has only graded a MS66+ higher.

Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer this magnificent rarity/GEM coin from the Civil War era for your consideration.

50C 1850O PCGS MS65

Sold on 02/2012
When we first saw this GEM we couldn't believe our eyes. This is a virtually perfect specimen. Think about it-thats 162 years with out being touched or messed with. Monster impressive!

Shimmering semi prooflike mirrors cover surfaces that are also intensely lustrous. There are hardly any marks visible-even with a strong glass. The color combo is a rich but very vibrant totally ORIGINAL navy/brown/royal blue/gold mix. Miss Liberty and the details are absolutely needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is sensational!

PCGS 4, NGC 6, CAC 3 (CAC has NONE higher). PCGS has graded only 2 coins higher. A different PCGS/CAC specimen sold in auction for $14,950.00 11/10 B+M. We can't stress enough the exceptional rarity ANY GEM MS65 Half from the 1850's offers. Opportunity can't knock any louder here!

For a sneak peak, go to PCGS cert verification: 25563869. The coin DOES look much better in person!

  A GREAT EARLY BUST COIN!
Sold on 02/2012
We hardly ever see pre 1800 coins with CAC beans. So many coins have been messed with or simply are overgraded. This coin is accurately graded and has NOT been messed with!

Pretty much problem free surfaces reveal strong clashing marks more so on the obverse. The luster is light. Some areas of deeper gold splash around the rims. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. There are NOT discolorations to mark the wear. The eye appeal is excellent!

PCGS 18, NGC 18, CAC 7. No CAC specimen has been auctioned. The last two NON CAC sold at major auction brought: $16,675.00 03/2009 and the other $18,400.00 04/2007 Stacks. These really do NOT appear with any frequency. And to find one CAC'd-now thats special!

  A SHIMMERING GEM!
Sold on 02/2012
This is a VERY pleasing GEM Buffalo!

Both sides are super clean and sleek. A strong luster shows off NO spots or streaks. The color is a mix of nickel and faint golden brown in a few areas. ALL of the details are well struck. The eye appeal is excellent!

PCGS 273, NGC 88, CAC 28. The last PCGS coin sell in auction was a NON CAC piece. it bought $805.00 07/11 Heritage.

  SENESATIONAL!
Sold on 02/2012
If your like CAC and are extra picky, this coin is the real deal for an MS66. If all MS66 Saints looked like this they'd be $5,000.00 easy!

Super smooth yet sleek surfaces have a light satiny texture. There are NO significant problems anywhere. A full booming luster shows off gorgeous deep and totally ORIGINAL gold colors. A very interesting scattered pinpoint dot mix of toning can ONLY be seen w/a glass. It will show up in an image, not to the naked eye. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have great strikes. The eye appeal is wonderful!

PCGS 1475, NGC 845, CAC 150. The current sightUNSEEN WHOLESALE BID is $3,600.00.

  SUPERB!
Sold on 02/2012
CAC sure is tough on its stickering of Saints! You know this coin is all there and then some!

Sleek surfaces actually explode with a booming luster. There are very few visible ticks-you really only see them with a strong glass. To the naked eye, this coin is clean. For perfectionists, there is a microscopic flake of mint grease above the arm. Both sides are a stunning orange color. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have strong strikes. The eye appeal is fabulous!

PCGS 25, NGC 25, CAC 359 (ALL). The current WHOLESALE sightUNSEEN BID is $3,875.00. Next step up is $12,000.00! Have not bought any others recently.

$3 1860 PCGS AU58
  PROBLEM FREE!
Sold on 02/2012
Hard to believe this frosty AU piece has lasted for over 152 year as with no major impairments!

Only light lines and a teenie weenie tick or two can be found when using a really strong glass. To the naked eye this coin is clean. A booming luster shows off beautiful bright yellow gold colors. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and the details have strong frosting and are well struck. The wear is well hidden and very faint. The eye appeal is great!

PCGS 33, NGC 92, CAC 3. NO AU58's have sold in auction.

We have always loved $3 sets. We have helped build the #1 Proof and MS sets. During that time we have realized that in circ/MS this is a completable set. The most expensive coin is the 54D. Whats neat is the tremendous rarities you can buy for way UNDER $10,000.00 in AU (like the 1881+1885 pieces with mintage of 500+800). Even a date like this 1860 is much tougher than the pops indicate-but we generally see one or two each year. Opportunity couldn't know any louder!
