3CN 1871 PCGS PR65CAMEO
SUPERB PLUS!
Sold on
12/2011
We really LOVE this coins qualities and eye appeal. It is the epitome of what a true GEM Should be!
Stunning glass like mirrors have no problems. Only with a strong glass can you see light die polishing-which is Mint made and does not effect the grade. The mirrors are also extremely clean, clear, and have killer reflectivity. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and have strong frost. This coin definitely is eye popping!
Only 960 minted. PCGS 12, NGC 5, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only 4 coins higher. A CAC piece sold in 10/11 for $978.00 (not this coin). That's ridiculous cheap for an obsolete denomination from 1871!

$2.5 1860S PCGS MS63
VERY CHOICE!
Sold on
12/2011
Hard to believe this $2.5 has survived in such a wonderful condition for over 151 years!
Of course this coin has a few ticks and scuffs, but they are widely scattered and are surprisingly minor. Overall, the surfaces do appear clean to the naked eye. The luster is also surprisingly strong and you can see traced of semi prooflike mirrors. There are NO copper spots or discolorations. The color is a semi two tone orange/deep gold. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are well struck. The eye appeal is terrific!
PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 1. PCGS shows it has graded 2 in MS64. The last time one of these made an appearance in a major auction was back in 2006. Back then the coin brought $19,550.00. You certainly NEVER ever see this date offered above AU. Opportunity knocks super loud here for the serious $2.5 enthusiast!

SUPER PRETTY!
Sold on
12/2011
If you collect MS Barbers, look at this GEM! This coin is of truly SUPERB quality.
Everything about this coin is impressive. The surfaces are perfectly clean and sleek. Even using a strong glass and studying the fields for hours will net you NO problems. An intense luster also shows off slightly mottled colors. Moderate golden brown/olive/pale blue/russet all swirl on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and do have light frost. The eye appeal is SUPERB!
PCGS 15, NGC 9, CAC 4. The last one in a sold in a major public auction brought $4,313.00 04/2011 Heritage. These seem too cheap below $5,000.00. You have to love the fact they are from an obsolete Mint too!

GLASSY DEEP MIRRORS!
Sold on
12/2011
An exceptional coin in every way! This is NOT a dark or drab piece.
Super deep and wildly reflective mirrors are crystal clear and clean. Even using a strong glass you can not find any real imperfections-or even lines. The color mix is a totally ORIGINAL navy/olive/purple/deep pewter blend. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do have thick frost. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 17, NGC 31, CAC 4. A non CAC PCGS PR66 sold for $11,500.00 08/2011 Heritage. We think these coins are UNDER valued and have great potential ONLY if they are CAC'd or are properly graded.

SUPER PRETTY!
Sold on
12/2011
Have not handled a nice one of these in ages. So many are either messed with or are plain out over graded. This coin is VERY HIGH END quality is pretty!
Amazingly clean surfaces offer NO imperfections of any size anywhere. We rarely seem them this clean. The surfaces are satiny and do have a decent luster. Light and totally ORIGINAL colors of gold/silver/pale blue swirl about both sides. ALL of the details are exceptionally struck. You do NOT see the typical softness that plagues the high points. The eye appeal is fabulous!
PCGS 74, NGC 81, CAC 13. There are NO CAC beans higher. No matter how picky tough you are, this coin WILL absolutely please you. If it does not, you are expecting something that does not exist! In MS67, even NON CAC piece sell for $20,000.00. We think this piece offered here is a great deal!

HIGH END quality!
We think because the toning is a little irregular on the reverse, that kept PCGS from grading it PR66. We cannot find ANY marks or issues (spots) anywhere. The surfaces are full GEM Matte texture. A decent luster can be seen. both sides are covered by a fiery gold/pale golden brown that has some light hints of blue. Every detail is needle sharp and stand out. The eye appeal is really nice!
PCGS 133, NGC 115, CAC 10. The current CDN WHOLESALE BID/ASK is $1,735.00/$1,910.00. Opportunity knocks loud here!

TREMENDOUS MIRRORS!
Sold on
12/2011
Even with all the McClaren coins, this is one date we have not run across in Proof. Hard to believe but the last one we handled was back in early 2010! We are pleased to finally offer a great 1939 10C Proof!
Both sides have deep, crystal clear, clean, and incredibly reflective mirrors. There is one teenie fleck hidden in the left obverse field. Miss Liberty and the details do have light creamy white frost and are fully struck. The eye appeal is like the quality, TREMENDOUS!

VIRTUALLY PERFECT!
Sold on
12/2011
There are hardly any marks-even of microscopic size on this piece. It is nearly perfect!
We've already mentioned the super clean and smooth surfaces. We did not mention they are lustrous and have a moderate to deeper layer of ORIGINAL olive/rose/blue/golden brown colors that all swirl together. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do have light frost. The eye appeal is very pleasing!
PCGS 5, NGC 1, CAC 4. Only NGC has a single coin graded higher. Why a coin like this isn't worth $10,000.00 is something that bothers us. Regardless, one day it will be!
