Item - 5405
$2.5 1927 PCGS MS65
  SUPERB PLUS!
Sold on 07/2010
One look and you can see this coin is 90% superior to most other $2.5 Indians in MS65 that roam the bourse floor. We wish ALL GEM $2.5 Indians could look like this!

Overall, both sides are super clean. Only the teenies of lines or ticks can be detected with a strong glass. The reverse is clearly free of marks above the eagles right shoulder. A strong luster shows off a pretty shade of deeper yellow gold. There are NO stains or discolorations. ALL of the details are pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is terrific!

PCGS 366, NGC 356, CAC 21. As you can see (or assume), CAC is extremely stingy on what it will sticker for a GEM $2.5 Indian.

H.10 1862 PCGS MS66
  A BLAST OF LUSTER!
Sold on 07/2010
148 years old and still sparkles like new! We think these are waaaay too cheap.

Both sides are intensely lusterous and are totally untoned. You can clearly see some die clashing (Mint made) and striations (also Mint made). There are NO marks or problems. Miss Liberty is frosty and is well struck. Even though its a smaller coin, the eye appeal is BIG!

PCGS 37, NGC 40, CAC 3.

We just can't get over how owning a coin from 148 years ago (during the Civil War time) in top grade can be so relatively inexpensive. Opportunity sure does knock loud here!

$1 1887 PCGS MS65 EX SIMPSON
  TROPICAL THUNDER!
Sold on 07/2010
WOW! Over 3/4 of the obverse is covered by electric deep neon type bands of color. We call it Tropic Thunder because it reminds us of lush jungle colors!

First, we do not know why this coin is only an MS65. It has a few very light and widely scattered ticks-we have seen far worse on MS66's. The surfaces also radiate with a full booming luster. In the end, its all about this coins MONSTER colors. The color mix is deep green/pearl green/violet/rose/amber/gold/sky blue. Mother nature did awesome work here! Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. The reverse just same some areas of gold by the rims. You need to wear sunglasses to view this coin as the eye appeal is so spectacular!

$1 1924 PCGS MS65 EX SIMPSON
ONE OF THE RAREST PEACE DOLLARS ON EARTH!
Sold on 07/2010
Extremely rare? HUH? We did not mention it is wildly colored! Peace Dollars rarely come with ANY kind of decent toning, no matter the date or grade. This coin has incredible color!

BOTH sides have a MONSTER crescent of navy/deep violet./magenta/sea green/russet colors. The centers are off white. A full booming luster really makes the colors appear boldly. This coin is totally original. Also, the technical quality is all there and then some. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and stand out with light frost. This is unlike other colored Peace Dollars you will ever see!

Ex Simpson Collection, one of the greatest EVER assembled. We sold this coin to him years ago. It did not come from an auction. It has NOT been on the market in a very long time!

Fantastic GEM! Completely clean and smooth fields. The color is a blast white. Both sides have an intense full booming luster. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is a WOW!

$2.5 1925D PCGS MS64
  SOLID FOR THE GRADE!
Sold on 07/2010
We always try to stock there when we feel they are reasonable. In MS64, you actually can complete a set for around $25,000.00.

This coin is solid for the grade. There are a few teeny ticks around, but none are visible to the naked eye. There are NO spots. A strong luster also shows off sharply struck details. The eye appeal is excellent!

PCGS 2104, NGC 3213, CAC 82.

1C 1915 PCGS PR66BN
  THE EPITOME OF PERFECTION!
Sold on 07/2010
If PCGS wasn't so spooked by Matte Proofs they could have easily graded this coin a PR67BN. It is flawless!

We never see PR Lincolns with ZERO impairments. The surfaces are genuine Matte and have never been messed with. The obverse is a nice brown that mixes with some red while the reverse is more a blue/brown (no this coin has NOT been MS70'd). Not a single spot can be found even if you had a microscope. Lincoln and all the details are needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is very pretty.

PCGS 12, NGC 9, CAC 2.

The last one of these to sell in major auction was back in 2007 and the price realized was $4,600.00 (08/07 Heritage).

This coin is posted at our BEST price!

1C 1855 PCGS PR65BN SLANTED 55
  A PHENOMENAL GEM!
Sold on 07/2010
Ex Martin Logies/Cardnial Collection (not noted on the holder). In this magnificent collection are a small group of Super high end and really good looking PR Large Cents-this is one.

SUPER HIGH END QUALITY. Awesome strong, crystal clear, and clean mirrors actually have powerful reflectivity (for a PR Large 1C anayway). There are ZERO spots or imperfections to be found even using a strong glass (which makes us question why this is only a PR65). The color is a rich choclate with highlights of ORIGINAL pale green/blue. No this is NOT one of those messed with or MS70'd coins. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and boldly stand out. The eye appeal is heartpounding!

ONLY 100 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 3, NGC 2, CAC 1.

We can never stress enough the tremendous rarity and value PR Large Cents offer. Remember, this coin is 155 years old and is in perfect condtion. You will not see these offered in any frequency. The last one to sell in a major public auction brought $8,510.00 02/2005 Heritage.

This is tied with the 3CS for being the cheapest Proof coin you can buy from 1855. Even a Half Dime in GEM PR would cost a minimum of $17,000.00+. To us, this coin will never be a glorified white widget and is what real classic numismatics is about.

Note: imaging this coin is difficult. if you are interested in it, we suggest a call or email to discuss.

$1 1882S NGC MS65*
  A DRAMATIC RAINBOW COLROED MORGAN!
Sold on 07/2010
After purchasing the MONSTER Sonnier Collection of colored Dollars, its really hard for us to get excited about the typical coins we see at shows. However this beauty walked up to us via a collector well known for his keen eye with colored Morgans. So we had to buy it!

Technically, the coin is solid for the grade. There are NO major hits-just a few tiny scattered ticks. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The luster in mind boggling. Now about the colors: they are killers! This coin is very close to what Sonnier had. The obverse has a partial crescent of neon green/violet on the left. The remainder of the obverse is bathed in gorgeous pale gold and electric pale blue colors. The reverse has reddish gold by the rims only. Mother nature did some of her best work here. The eye appeal is awesome!

Quarters:Standing Liberty

25C 1918 PCGS MS65+ FH
  A SUPER HIGHEND MASTERPIECE!
Sold on 07/2010
Ex BEAR COLLECTION (not on the holder). Bet you did not know Bears are wild about Standing Quarters!

You could not find a more high end and beautiful coin! Both sides are drenched with a full booming high voltage luster. The surfaces are super clean. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and appear boldly. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 70, NGC 44, CAC 2.

This coin really is everything and then some that you would expect it to be. We have seen many MS66FH not as nice!
