J- 541 1866 $1 PCGS PR64BN
  A VERY CHOICE DIE TRIAL!
Sold on 04/2011
This coin is an R-6 (13-30 minted). It is a die trial of the regular design struck in copper. This coin is also totally ORIGINAL and near full GEM!

Both sides are super clean and have mirrors that are more semi prooflike than deep and proof. A beautiful rich layer of medium chocolate color mixes with red at the fringes and covers all the surfaces. There are No spots. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is terrific!

PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 1. The pops show none are higher-but we know there is one better-the NGC Simpson coin. The last PCGS coin at auction was way back in 1997. An NGC coin sold for $5,750.00 in 1/2009 Heritage. Most important-you can NOT buy a nice REGULAR PCGS PR64 CAC coin for the same price! This is a perfect example of how Patterns offer really strong value.

  ORIGINAL!
Sold on 04/2011
Not an easy date or grade to find-the pop reports may be too generous!

This is an ORIGINAL coin that has simply has a little wear. The wear is even and does not standout with dark patches or serious rub. There are some lines and small marks in the fields. The luster is good and does bring out the dusky gold colors. There are NO spots. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. The eye appeal is pleasing!

PCGS 31, NGC 9, CAC 4. Only 4000 pieces were minted.

  A GLOWING GEM!
Sold on 04/2011
CAC is very picky about its Saints-and so are we! Finding a really nice + coin is not easy.

This coin has minimal ticks and no lines or discolorations. Overall, the surfaces do look clean. A full booming luster shows off a beautiful rich gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is terrific!

PCGS 112, NGC 48, CAC 877 (ALL). The current sightUNSEEN WHOLESALE BID for ANY MS65 (not +) is $2,350.00.

There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have excellent strikes. The eye appeal is VERY nice!

PCGS 1134, NGC 834, CAC 62. The last one of these to sell in a major auction brought $2,070.00 12/10 Heritage. hard to believe, the last one we bought was over one year ago. The next step up will cost you at least $8,000.00 if you can find one!

  GREAT LUSTER!
Sold on 04/2011
Definately a HIGH END coin! Only some MINOR chatter/lines in the reverse field keep this coin from grade a full MS65. There are NO major marks. The obverse is extra clean. Bothsides exhibit a strong luster. The color is a bright yellow gold. All of the details are sharply struck. The eye appealis wonderful!

PCGS 40, NGC 39, CAC 126 (ALL). A full MS65 CAC coin currently has a sightUNSEEN WHOLESALE BID of $3,100.00. This coin is reasonably priced!

  SATINY+SEXY!
Sold on 04/2011
WOW! This coin is a GEM EVERY day!

Stunning super velvety surfaces are remarkably clean and of course smooth. Only with a strong glass can you see a tick on the face. A full booming luster beams and shows off even light gold color. There are NO spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have exceptional strikes. The eye appeal is great!

PCGS 22, NGC 13, CAC 4. The last one of these to sell in major auction brought $24,150.00 10/10 Heritage. You certainly do NOT see many better $10 Indians offered for sale in GEM these days. Prices need to be update a bit for the series!

  FULLY PROOFLIKE!
Sold on 04/2011
The extreme rarity of this date in MS63 and higher can never be overstated. They pretty much do not exist!

Amazingly, this coin has deep 4' mirrors that are clear and clean overall. Using a glass you will find some tiny scattered ticks on the reverse (but this is a MS64, not a 65). A gorgeous mix of pale tangerine/violet/golden brown colors evenly cover all of the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have extra sharp strikes. The eye appeal is mind boggling for a MS64!

PCGS 2, NGC 5, CAC 4. PCGS has graded two higher. There are no accurate price references for this date and grade. We have sold several other pop 2's in the same price range. If either of the MS65's were for sale, they cost easily OVER $100,000.00.

  WAY ABOVE AVERAGE!
Sold on 04/2011
If you know your $10 Indians, then you know how horrible choppy this date can come. We were thrilled to see that marks are held to a minimum and are minor on this GEM. To the naked eye the coin does appear clean. A full booming luster shows off spot free deep yellow gold colored surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is great!

PCGS 6, NGC 13, CAC 81 (all). The last one to sell in major auction (CAC) brought $5,175.00 12/2010 Heritage. The current sightUNSEEN for CAC NON + coins is $4,500.00. The next step up costs at least $12,000.00 (see the one we have listed for $12,950.00). Opportunity knocks loud here!

  INTENSE MIRRORS!
Sold on 04/2011
We are pleased to have purchased a 'textbook" example of how these should come. This is a super black and white flashy SUPERB GEM!

Deep, clear, clean (just a few trivial ticks scattered about, and highly reflective mirrors cover both sides. You can just about shave in the full 8" mirrors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. Her cheek is totally original and is not baggy. The eye appeal is spectacular!

PCGS 65, NGC 56, CAC 7. You will NOT be disappointed in this masterpiece!
