Gold:Quarter Eagles:Liberty
Item - 3051
$2.5 1900 NGC PR65
  THE CAVIAR OF NUMISMATICS!
Sold on 07/2008
A bold GEM in EVERY respect! We happen to be a huge fan of NGC PR Gold-and probably the biggest market maker of high end Proofs too.

Quality wise, this coin is all there. Deep shimmering mirrors are clear, clean, and of course have intense reflectivity. There is a teenie planchet imperfection on the reverse (above the eagle). Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is terrific!

ONLY 205 were minted. PCGS 12, NGC 1. NOTE: NGC has graded 16 in cameo (which would run you almost $20,000.00).

Half Cents
Item - 3183
H.01 1833 PCGS MS64BN
  HINTS OF MINT RED!
Sold on 07/2008
Half cents are so wicked cool. We wish we could find more of these that are original and look so nice.

This coin has a stunning appearance. The surfaces are smooth, very clean (although under a glass you can see a tick or two), have a full booming luster and are NOT recolored or messed with. The overall color is a beautiful milk chocolate with hints of original MINT RED. Some faint blue toning accents a few areas. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. We strongly think at BELOW $1,000.00 coins like these are steals!

Do NOT be fooled by the pops or the ridiculous prices on the sheets. You can't go out and find nice ORIGINAL UNSPOTTED pieces like this isn any frequency. PCGS 56, NGC 76. PCGS has only 23 coins finer. Load us up and PCGS MS65BN's that have CAC stickers anywhere near the ridiculous published bids-NOT! We think it will take at least DOUBLE to buy nice MS65's! These are all soooo cheap!

SET 10C-50C 1902S PCGS MS66
  EACH COIN IS SUPERB!
Sold on 07/2008
Each coin is totally original and is graded MS66 by PCGS. This is NOT an original matched set. However, we do feel it is neat enough to offer these grossly under valued pieces together.

10C VERY HIGH END. Mark free surfaces are smooth and satiny. A strong luster shows off the slightly mottled pewter/pale olive colors. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 9, NGC 2. Each has graded only one coin higher.

25C Technically perfect! PCGS probably felt the color wasn't light enough to grade it MS67. The colors are a mix of olive/golden brown/deep pewter. There is a strong luster. all of the details are fully struck. PCGS 6, NGC 5. Each has only ONE coin finer.

50C A shimmering GEM! The surfaces are smooth, super clean, and have a pretty light golden brown champagne color. A booming luster highlights everything. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and boldly stand out. PCGS 5, NGC 5.

The great overall rarity of these coins is tremendous. Do not let the pops fool you-it probably would take years to recreate this set. We think it has tremendous long term potential.

10C 1809 PCGS MS64
  A NEAR MISS GEM!
Sold on 07/2008
WOW! The ONLY thing we can see that might be keeping this coin from GEM-some flatness in the stars. otherwise, everything else is GEM quality!

Everything about this coin is exceptional. The surfaces are amazingly smooth, clean, and have a mind blowing intense luster. Both sides are evenly covered by a superb mix of ORIGINAL pale blue/green/purple/gold colors that blend together memorably. Save for the stars, Miss Liberty and all of the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is totally wonderful!

the grand rarity of this date and grade can not be overstated. After 20+ years of operations and millions of coins graded the pops are a non existent: PCGS 4, NGC 5. PCGS has 4 higher and NGC has 3 in MS65. We can not find any auction records for a PCGS MS65 ever trading. Chances are, you're not going to see another 64 of finer pieces offered anytime soon! It makes our heads want to explode with how strong opportunity knocks here!

25C 1895 PCGS PR68 CAMEO
  UNBELIEVABLE!
Sold on 07/2008
BUCKEYE II COLLECTION. Just 880 struck. One of the finest 1895 25C that exists! Until a week ago, this coin was in an old PCGS PR68 holder and did not have the cameo designation. We do unhesitatingly feel this coin is a border line Ultra Cameo.

Wildly deep and amazingly crystal clear mirrors just dazzle you with flash. Importantly, there is NO haze. Miss Liberty and the details are remarkably struck and have thick pure white frost. This is definitely NOT one of those coins you ask your self "how did it make it?" It IS a touch nicer than the PCGS piece that just sold in Heritage for $16,100.00. This is only the second PR68 Cameo PCGS has now graded. PCGS has only ONE 68 Ultra cameo.

$5 1891-CC PCGS MS-64
  CLOSE TO FULL MS65!
Sold on 07/2008
Superb and nearly a full MS65! Only under strong magnification can you see a few light scuffs hidden in the fields. A full booming luster shows off the rich orange/deep gold color on both sides. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is excellent! The pops are most likely wrong since there is only ONE MS65 by PCGS. PCGS 57, NGC 48 (w/7 in MS65)

$1 1860 PCGS MS64
  VERY HIGH END!
Sold on 07/2008
We rate this near miss GEM an MS64.8! Just few hidden ticks on the arm from full GEM. Do not be fooled, its impossible to find really nice examples of this date.

Even when using a strong glass it is hard to find fault with this coin. The surfaces are exceptionally clean, smooth, and even have traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. A surprisingly strong luster highlights a beautiful and totally original mix of pewter/pale navy/pearl gray colors. Miss Liberty and every detail are pinpoint sharp in strike and do boldly stand out. The eye appeal is nothing less than amazing!

Do not be fooled by the slightly higher pops. The price we are asking for this coin is more than reasonable (especially when considering the quality and eye appeal). ANY Seated Dollar in full GEM is rare. We will pay sightUNSEEN $65,000.00 for any PCGS MS65 ONLY CAC'd 1860. NON CAC PCGS (only) we'll pay $50,000.00. Have any for sale?

PCGS 24, NGC 16. PCGS has graded 4 in MS65 and 2 in MS66. NGC has one MS67.

3C 1862 NGC PR67
  AN AMAZING COIN!
Sold on 07/2008
Quite possibly the finest 1862 3CS Proof! Remarkable mirrors are icy in appearance. They also have stunning qualities of being defect free, crystal clear, and incredibly deep/boldly reflective. Mind boggling colors of violet/deep amber/blue/forest green/gold swirl wildly about both sides. Every detail is needle sharp in strike and also have generous frost. The eye appeal is quite memorable!

Only 550 were ever minted. This is not an easy date to find. Even if this were not an 1862, the quality and eye appeal will meet or beat ANY PR67 of ANY date! PCGS 1, NGC 6.

Half Dollars:Bust

50C 1821 PCGS MS63
  ULTRA HIGH END!
Sold on 07/2008
This is one of the few coins we have cracked this year and resubmitted seeking a higher grade. Obviously, it did not go. We do not know why. All we can possibly find is some light clashing marks-which should NOT be counted against the quality.

Phenomenal smooth, super clean, and surprisingly lustrous surfaces are clearly visible. A beautiful mix of green/blue/gold/golden brown/rose colors intermingle effortlessly on both sides. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is fabulous! You MUST see this coin for yourself! We totally stand by our opinion it is better than MS63-but we make NO guarantees it will ever go up.

PCGS 22, NGC 17.

$1 1866 MOTTO PCGS PR-64 CAMEO
  HOT!
Sold on 07/2008
This is a clear cut PR64++ Cameo. Ultra deep and "liquid" like mirrors have NO visible flaws. Only a few stray lines can be seen under a glass. The reflectivity and clarity are tremendous. A light hint of purple frames the rims. Miss Liberty and the details boldly stand out with full strikes and heavy creamy white frost. The eye appeal is superb!

Only 725 pieces were minted. PCGS 10, NGC 14. The last PCGS PR64 Cameo to sell in auction sold for $8,625.00 in 05/07 at a Heritage sale. In PR65, these are worth $13,000.00+.
